Has anyone turned in their information for the facebook? I received the deadline extension today, but I am undecided whether I would like to participate or not.

I received the extension in the mail, as well. But I figured that the hard copy facebook is not nearly as useful as the virtual Facebook with which I’ve already started to communicate with people.

After reading various posts on CC, I still don’t have a clear picture of what exactly my daughter needs to wear at w&l. My son graduated from w&l, and believe me when I say that anything goes for boys…mainly cords, khakis, blazer, vv tie, button down, North Face, Barbour, casual loafer, topsiders, llbean boots, pullover sweaters. So, that being said, guys are much easier to outfit than girls are, so any suggestions would be helpful!

@fortycourt: Girls really have a wide range as well regarding wardrobe choices. It’s normal to see girls in summer dresses and skirts while it’s warm out, and then mainly a nice top with skinny jeans and cowboy/riding boots when it gets cooler. Girls sometimes just wear Nike shorts and a t-shirt, especially if we’re in a hurry. No sweatpants, really. But the general rule of thumb is just to look presentable! It is true that W&L students really do care about their appearance, but notsomuch in a superficial way as in a “we want to present ourselves well” way. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for replying and the info! I am also wondering if you can tell me what kinds of outerwear you all wear when it gets cold? We live in a really warm climate.
Thank you again!

Northface jacket. Also, lots of cardigans.

Thanks to both of you…if you have any other helpful ideas for freshman girls, all are welcome!

Uggs/riding boots are pretty much the standard for winter footwear, as are Northface jackets. It does snow every once in a while, so you should definitely bring boots and a warm coat, whatever kind! No one is so petty as to judge the exact brand of “outerwear” you are wearing, so whatever is comfy and warm will do. :)

All helpful…thanks!

Or a patagonia fleece. That’s my outwear of choice.

Thanks! Someone else mentioned a Barbour jacket…Is it the Bedale?
