Wow, the last post was kind of ignorant…
anyways AP stat is much harder then it seems, much
i thought it was gonna be an easy A but i have a C right now…

I’m not being ignorant, but HOW the teachers teach the subjects at my school, you just kind of give up giving them the “benefit of the doubt”

IB Environmental Systems
IB English 11

They could have been so easy to ace, but, alas, they were not.

Fine arts classes–basic drawing I & II, painting, studio art… yeah, they are no joke. Only B+ I ever got in high school was in basic drawing I.

Italiano…

Everyone here thinks Latin will be a cake walk. “Hey I aced Latin prefixes in English what’s going to be so hard about the language?” The language itself isn’t overly difficult, but my teacher is a stickler. There are no retakes. Late assignments are worth, at best, 50%. You get marked down if you forget a macron (which aren’t essential to begin with in Latin to begin with).

The first month sets this thought process in with review over English. “I know what a noun is! I’m going to get 100% in this class!”

It’s the hardest class i’ve ever taken.

Band here, getting the “A” isn’t difficult, but not dieing during marching season is a different story. Lol

What’s more amusing is why you decided to necro a thread 9 months old…

^yes indeed.

Photography ceramics and spanish.

Health…should be a piece of cake, but the teacher gives out a crapload of projects to do every week. It’s crazy how much time it took up.

Art is graded really toughly (we have quite a prestigious art program for a public school) and it’s just an overall difficult course.

Food Service is not just cooking, since we go into ethics and all sorts of consumer safety laws.

You run a mile a day in PE.

Honors English was wayyy harder for me than AP English. Maybe it’s just because the teacher and I didn’t get along.

The drama teacher was a crazy beyotch who hated everyone not aiming for Broadway. Her class was insane, not to mention taught horribly.

As soon as I read the title, I thought of HUMAN ANATOMY. The teachers that teach this class are those that are AP Bio teachers or those that want an AP Bio teaching job. The only kids that take this class are kids that want to be doctors. AP Bio is a *****-load of work at our school, and this class gives just as much work, if not more.

Typical day in psychology:
Teacher talks about random newspaper article for 30 minutes.
Teacher uses powerpoint from appsychology.com for 20 minutes.
Leave

Because of this schedule, we finished 2/3 of the textbook. We went over about 15 “important” people.

Final exam: 100 questions. 40 of them were random quotes from the textbook. About 30 quotes were attributed to unimportant people who were mentioned in at most 4 lines of the textbook. The other 60 were vocabulary from a list of about 400 words.
Hardest exam of my life. Would have helped if we had known the layout of the test instead of being told to read the entire textbook over in a period of 3 days.

On the other hand, band.
Band was hard because it took up so much time. I remember waking up at 6:30 and marching for 1.5 hours before school and then sometimes staying late for rehearsals/concerts. On Fridays, football games til 11 pm (Only lasted 3 months though). I had it a bit easier because I wasn’t in the top band. I really liked band though; the director was very intelligent, loaded with a ton of energy and had an amazing playing style. I enjoyed band while it lasted though. Much more than psychology!

Health… There’s lots of busywork…

Dance! For some reason, my dance teacher decided to grade everybody like it was an academic class. In fact, my dance teacher was going to give me a 55 on a spot check for a choreography project (which I had worked my ass off on). I’m not the best dancer, but I had at least put effort into the thing. I went and had a discussion with her about it, and explained that this would be my lowest grade in high school thus far. I also pointed out that I had high A’s in my honors and AP courses. Luckily, I made a 98 on the final choreography project. ;)

an elective called laws of the street sounds like a joke, but that class was really difficult to get a 100 in. I got 94/95. If you missed done homework, you’d get 30 points off your grade automatically (there are only 3 hw assignments every quarters).

Lols, “laws of the street.” Do they teach you how to shank someone?

Draw & Paint I

I couldn’t get an A because I’m not an artist.

altindiegirl, yes they did. Well, they taught us how to avoid being shanked.
