Hardest class you've ever taken

<p>What is the the hardest class you've ever taken? And why (because of the curriculam or the teacher or other reasons?)</p>

<p>Mine was Ap English Lit because I am not that great at English to start with and we had a pretty demanding teacher.</p>

<p>I’m an incoming junior and so far the hardest class i’ve taken was Pre-Calc. The teacher was very demanding, especially compared to the other teachers who gave easier tests and gave curves. But for the semester final all the pre-calc kids took the same test (made by another teacher) and our class passed it with flying colors compared to other pre-calc classes. I got a B for my final grade. :D</p>

<p>PHY122 University Physics II: Electricity & Magnetism with Lab (Calculus-Based), which I took fall semester as a high school junior.</p>

<p>I think the best way to describe the difficulty of this class is the exams: tests consisted of six (!!) questions, one of which you could choose to not have graded. We were allowed a full 8.5x11" double-sided cheat sheet, yet despite this, the curve on the each test was like 30 points (out of 100)!</p>

<p>It didn’t help that it was a 4 hour, once a week class on FRIDAYS, and that the teacher, although a very nice guy, was near-deaf and could barely hear/understand us.</p>

<p>I took a class last summer that wasn’t for a grade. It was just for fun at the SC Governor’s School for Science and Math.</p>

<p>It was called Electronics or Computer and Electronics… or something like that. Anyways… it hurt my head so much… but now I can count in binary.</p>

<p>Ap Biology, for multiple reasons listed and not.</p>

<p>Honors Spanish IV…what hell. Harder than any of the APs I took, and harder than multivariable calc which I am starting.</p>

<p>BS class.</p>

<p>Definitely AP Calc BC. None of the other classes I’ve taken were legit hard, and actually, once the second semester started it wasn’t so bad either. But the first semester was awful. Especially since technically I wasn’t supposed to be in the class and the teacher just let me.</p>

<p>I’m taking Calculus IV & Analytical Geometry next year. That’ll probably kill. And maybe Physics C but possibly Physics B.</p>

<p>Actually I forgot that this doesn’t have to be just a class for high school credit/college credit…the hardest class I’ve ever taken (including outside of school + classes not for credit) is actually the math proofs class that I go to on Sundays…we do these incredibly difficult proof problems from old Olympiads.</p>

<p>I would say Honors Chemistry. Although it wasn’t an AP, our teacher taught at an honors level and tested us AP test questions…
That’s what I hate about Honors classes-- there’s no standard and the teacher can do whatever he pleases.</p>

<p>AP Physics B</p>

<p>No one got an A, not those going to MIT for physics, not the NMF… no one.</p>

<p>AP Chem, but then again I’m only a rising junior.</p>

<p>Definitely APUSH this year.
Once you got the hang of it it wasn’t so bad, but the first essay everyone got a C.
If your first sentence wasn’t your thesis he’d just cross out everything until the actual thesis and write “waste of time.” There was one kid who purportedly got a 50 on his DBQ and a comment saying “This is a gift.”</p>

<p>We didn’t get quizzes in class, we had to stay after school to go over them. All of our essays had to be written after school too.</p>

<p>I got a 5 on the exam and it is by far my favorite class out of everything I’ve taken,</p>

<p>AP Calc AB.
I skipped precalc, math is not my best subject, plus the class only had a 65% PASSING rate (there was 1 A and she is going to Princeton) because my teacher was pathetic.</p>

<p>APUSH</p>

<p>Most people struggled to maintain a C in that class.</p>

<p>COP1220: Introduction to C++, Spring Semester, Junior Year</p>

<p>I was so lost for most of the year…but still pulled an A :slight_smile:
I guess it was really hard because I had never programmed before…and knew nothing about programming languages (except they were used in making video games).</p>

<p>AP Euro. Wierd, since history is supposed to be really easy. However, we had a pretty hard teacher and I think only two people got an A for the year in the class. It was tough have a to read a hundred pages in four class periods, and then being tested on it. Wasn’t a riot, to say the least.</p>

<p>AP BIO ugh I just never got around the teaching styles of my teacher; I tried to slack; I never enjoyed reading the book; I totally burned myself out trying to memorize instead of understanding concepts</p>

<p>Ninth grade geometry. I don’t think I got higher than a C on any of the tests. I was really bad at math then and I always zoned out in class.</p>

<p>Math Analysis[precalc] I could not get an A no matter how hard I tried[ended up with my first B], but I got As in AP Calc AB and BC so I think it had to do with teaching styles.</p>
