I'm a little confused on the planned courses for the academic update. I have two classes that might change. Am I not allowed to drop and switch classes later on if I submit the update?

You have until Jan 31 to update. I am waiting until my spring classes start on the 17th. That way I can make sure I am taking the classes I have planned. Then I can update the fall grades, and instead of saying PL for planned spring classes I can say IP for “in progress”. I other words if your classes will be set by say, Jan 24th or so just wait until then to do your update. Just because you can do the update Jan 9th doesn’t mean you have to do it right away.

So the update is open until Jan 31st? My classes begin on the 23rd.

Also, if later in the semester, I decide to drop one of my classes (this class is not even transferable). Will I have any issues, and will I need to notify the UCs?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Yeah, changing a course after you put them on the application will cause problems, especially if they are courses that are major or IGETC related. Even if they aren’t, you’ll still have to inform the UCs and you still might be rescinded.

If you think you might want to drop it later, don’t take it at all.
