Spoke to Admissions, and they told me that typically USC move-in is the Saturday before classes start, but due to the solar eclipse occurring around 2:30pm on Monday the 21st in Columbia, move in was changed to Tuesday 8/22. Guess we’re driving down from Philly that day…hopefully we’ll see the dang thing. Weekend move in would be more convenient, but I guess they’re anticipating all the hotels will be booked solid over the weekend. Anyone else changing their plans around the movement of the earth and sun?
It’s such a big deal that local school districts are pushing their start dates until Tuesday. Doesn’t affect D’s school and most only by a day.
Also, if you have a daughter participating in sorority recruitment looks like you can move in previous week (also few other groups like maybe marching band). If this applies, call and ask.
