THE GREATEST NUMBER OF APs TAKEN IN A YEAR WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE SCORES

You can take APs ONLY in May, when they're administered at various testing locations. You can "google" Advanced Placement Testing & get all the info you need. Tests are about $82/test + any late fees. At our kids' school, you register in March/April.

thatindiandude- Hah! I took 13 (14 if you count physics as 2) senior year. See my post above. :p My school paid for our AP and IB exams.

One thing I forgot to mention is that there's a thread named "Whoever has the most APs wins" on the Parent board- it's an interesting alternate viewpoint.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=97255

I think people should be accepted/rejected by a good university based on the number of APs

^ I disagree.

Upon graduation from high school, I will have taken one AP class. Not only is it VERY hard to be accepted to AP classes (Ex, to get into AP Bio I had to take a year of honors bio first) at my school, there are not that many. We have AP Latin, Spanish, French, Bio, Chem Physics, Stat, Calc (AB and BC), and US History.

Although I have only taken one AP class, I've taken a lot of challenging courses (intense private school) and I feel like I've learned a lot during the past few years. AP's don't mean everything, especially since my AP class this year is actually my easiest class.

My APs:

Junior Year:

Eng. Lang- 3
US Hist- 4
Chem- 5
Calc BC- 5/4

Senior Year:

Eng. Lit, Bio

A lot of APs at my school take up two blocks (we have a block schedule, 4 blocks each semester), and in my junior year, Calc and Chem both took up 2 blocks, so there goes half my available schedule right there.

Call me a slacker if you want for my taking only two APs this year, and I will respond with something that will make you go "so THAT's why he's only taking 2 APs"

Hmm...I can't resist.

SLACKER!!! :p

indian dude what state are you in? I am not sure why you are bragging about AP exams... there is more to life than taking as many tests as possible. Warblers rule you are the ultimate loser because you still post on an SAT board when you are out of high school. Get a life.

sticks tongue out and then sulks off to do orgo

the ulitmate question: is there more to life than taking as many tests as possible?
I dont think there is. If you know, then tell me!

Hmm I highly doubt any of you took 11 or 13 AP Tests..... in fact, I know its not possible.

in my junior year i had 4... not recommended

ap bio
ap english
ap spanish
ap us history

pretty tough.

I have six this year..
Stat (joke), Calc BC (cake), US history, english lang, chem, and phys -_-

I had Ap Comp Sci AB and AP Biol last year as a sophomore.

I applaud those people with 10 APs in one year, but you hafta admit, AP environmental science? AP Psychology? Honestly, they shouldn't even be called AP, such jokes that they are.

^^ But man, I'm envious. I'm already getting only 3 hours of sleep a night studying. 10 APs? Crazy!

I think that it's ridiculous for students to take more than 4 APs...that's like being a full-time college student. Be a high school person, not a college person! Have a life...

6 AP's is ridiculous, I have 5 this year and 7 tests and i think i am nuts. But I guess some people get off to taking 10 exams a year.

Most I've taken were 4...but I also had 5 IB tests the same year...5/5/5/4 on APs and 7/7/6/6/5 on IBs...

If I sound jealous...I am...

"Man, I pwn you guys. Last year, as a Junior, I took 10 AP tests in addition to the one I took freshman year and the two I took sophomore year. I've taken Bio, Eng. Lit, Eng. Lang, Psychology, Env. Sci, Human Geog, Micro Econ, Macro Econ, US History, World History, Music Theory, Euro History, US Govt. This year I'm taking 8 more. Scores= All 5s except for fours in Micro and Govt."

lol... well, since we seem to have such a vindictive spirit here, I might mention that I have 15 APs total, all 5s (including Micro and Govt). At the same time, I should say that most AP tests (except the foreign language ones, which are damn hard) aren't remotely rigorous, so this entire exercise is pretty frivolous.

I have asked this a few times before, but I haven't really gotten a good answer, so here it goes again:

If I am taking Honors World Hist this year, should I take AP world hist next year, or is HOnors respectable enough...

How hard is the test?

Hrm. Here's my stats i guess:

Frosh:
Calculus AB - 5

Soph:
Calculus BC - 5 (Self study)
Chemistry - 5

Junior:
US History - 5
Comp Sci AB - 5 (Self study)
Physics C Mech + EM - 5/5 (Self study)
Biology - 5 (Self study)

Senior (currently taking):
English Lit
Government

I guess most of my AP's aren't the joke AP's. And as long as you manage your time well, you can pull off a lot of AP's.

kty- how can you take Calc. BC as a sophomore?? you cant.

to all- i was just wondering, does ya'lls AP teacher prepare yall rigorously?

because im in AP chem and my teachers teaching us significant figures...hows that supposed to help me out on the AP chem tesT idk.
