Physics and mathematics…mostly physics. I just like math and it is a good supplement to physics, considering that physics is all applied math.

Hey,

I’ve also been waitlisted. FL, applied to their SEAS. Already sent a letter and a couple of email updates. Never had an interview and school never sent anyone to Harvard. Everyone else at my school got straight rejected from all the ivies IDK, I hope I get in. If not I have a great back up :)

I applied with an interest to AE (I know they don’t have the program, but I was going there for ME and building on that in grad school). After I applied I’ve def shifted my interest to pre-med, business, law, and basically everything other than AE lol

@simplywaiting: Wow, very diverse! And yes they should just take us all lol!
@cicero_oratore: Physics?!? gulp lol

Cicero, I totally disgree about physics just being applied math.

I’ll study econ, math, physics, stats, philosophy, or history (in that order). Basically, anything except for bio.

I kinda like a whole bunch of subjects (biology [every type], economics, physics, chemistry, political science, psychology, math, history, and sort of english), so I’m not quite set, but I was planning on doing biochem or molecular biology along with econ. But since Harvard doesn’t allow double majors, I was hoping to get either a joint degree or an additional secondary degree should the waitlist prove favorable.

And if we get all 42 of us off the waitlist, there are still another 28 kids who can get off to make qizixite happy with 70 waitlistees.

Good point. Good point.

:o greatly appreciated

But to get off the CC waitlist, maybe we should require a minimum number of posts on this thread.

What do you mean?

To encourage participation on this thread.

That way people don’t just put their names down then lurk in the background constantly. Get some more opinions. And so we can waste more time on here.

Or at least one post introducing yourself and two posts which are judged by readers to be totally useless (I’m definitely there already).

I want to study English as well, MorganSimone. Have at least 10 posts in the thread and you get off the waitlist. I know a bunch of us would for sure be off already.

I’m thinking of studying English lit, creative writing, and public/international affairs while maybe being pre-med… or maybe law. Or maybe neither, I’m not really sure yet. I have a lot of interests haha.

By the way, this forum is basically my form of procrastination from studying Calc BC so thanku :). Also, if we are lucky enough to get off the waitlist at Harvard, does anyone know how long we have to either accept or reject their offer?

Well, looks like I need to get more posts out there…
I’m taking Lit, BC Calc, Micro and Macro econ, Physics mechanics, and Stat. Took Spanish, Language, AB Calc, and history other years.
And yes, reach4stars - this is my mode of procrastination too!

if accepted to Hah-vahd, I would probably start with geology, maybe switch to physics or bio later. Also a lot of music!

Sent in my update letter a few minutes ago. (I know, I know - very late.)
Did the rest of you just send it to fileroom@fas.harvard.edu, or did you send a hard copy?

Does Harvard have a creative writing concentration? I thought they only had English lit.

I sent it to fileroom@fas.harvard.edu and received what I think was an automated response.

What did you send and what was the response?

I sent my update letter to fileroom@fas.harvard.edu and got back an email saying that my letter was added to my file. It was definitely automated. Oh, and remember that the fileroom email doesn’t accept attachments.

So I decided I should stop lurking on here (like reach4thestars45, been using it to avoid studying for Calc. BC) and post. I would’ve done so when I first saw it, but my old username was apparently disabled and it took a while to find the energy to register haha.

At any rate, I was (obviously) wait listed. Already sent a letter with some updated info. Definitely my first choice since I went there over the summer and took courses. I was hoping my professor’s rec. letter would get me in, but apparently not. At least it got me on the list instead of flat out rejected like all the other ivies.

In the mean time, I’ve enrolled at William and Mary. I’m from PA, so that’s a bit further than I really wanted (Harvard is the ideal distance, only about half a day’s drive). No matter where I end up going, I plan on majoring in classical history (I want to be a professor…can’t wait for 8 more years of school to get that PhD), with a double major in…something. Maybe economics, maybe statistics, maybe psychology. Honestly I have no clue.
