The Harvard Waitlist Waiting Room 2014 Thread

I call ■■■■■. It’s hard to believe that no one from our thread got accepted off but someone with one post just comes around and is taken off the list. Sorry I hate calling ■■■■■ on people but I think this could be a ■■■■■ case. And yes, northeasat is usually last.

Wow Imontoya you are really a negative person. With that attitude you won’t get in. And yes I’m a new member because I don’t waste my time posting all day but I have been following…Reach4thestars45 if I didn’t get in I was going to Oxford as an Econ major.
I wish you all good luck except Imnotoya who belongs at community college.

This whole thing reminds me of opening day of trout season, everyone standing around waiting for opening time: “What are you using for bait?” “How are you rigged?” “Got any bites yet?”, etc.

Good luck to all of you–by the way, in my state, opening day is April 1–feels like opening day all over again. Even if we get skunked by Harvard, the matriculation choices sound great for everyone. It’s been a fun thread to read.

I’m sure they’ll be sending out most of their calls next week, so don’t worry everyone! There’s still hope! Maybe they notify internationals first (bergertown, I’m guessing you’re an international?)

@Neapolitan - I agree. At this point, I think most of us are extremely happy with our current schools, and whatever happens is meant to be.

bergertown, where are you located? I’m guessing international too.

I don’t disbelieve you because right now seems to be about the right time for calls to start coming in. People have posted recently that admission reps/interviewers have been sniffing around.

Congrats.

My primary residence is Cuba but I was granted a student visa to go to school in NY. So all of high school I went to school in the states.

@burgertown…
Yep…Too busy to join, but following the thread. Never joined all through the application process, or the waiting process, or the acceptance process…But got a call today from Harvard and instantly decided now was the time to go ahead and register…Not when you got accepted into Oxford though, just harvard.

Oh, and then you check back 15 minutes later to see what people wrote about you…hahahaha. Sure you got in…Tell me again what Burgertown you cook fries for?

As for me and Community College…That is even funnier. How bad is your self-esteem?

Yes i sent in some additional info i hope its a good sign

My guess is they’ll start pulling people off on Monday, not on a Friday. You’d think its a lot harder to get ahold of people on the weekends.

I think we’ll start to see everything next Tuesday through the following Monday or so. Especially if they’re doing it by region. We might see 2 or 3 people pulled off every day I would imagine.

Imontoya and bergertown, I think you’re both at fault here ; ). Doesn’t matter if he’s a ■■■■■, who cares?

Bergertown: Congratulations!
Can you share with us some of the details of the call you received from Harvard? E.g., did the caller give you a certain amount of time to accept the offer of admission, was the caller the admission rep for your area, and did the caller call you at home or on a cell phone, etc.?

Just a few more days! Good luck everybody (+me)!

Add me to the list.
committed to Amherst College <3333

Good Luck everyone! I know all of you are very intelligent, capable adults! Waiting is very hard regardless of your age.

bergertown:

as i have posted earlier in the thread i got into oxford, too, for PPE.
unfortunately there is no econ major at oxford :frowning:
so bergertown must be a ■■■■■.

Hmm. Interesting info, Max. That coupled with the fact that no one else was called today leads me to agree.

On the day that Princeton started taking people off the WL, several CC posters posted about it. The Harvard WL is even bigger so the fact that only one person claimed they got a call is indeed suspicious.

I just received some information from a friend who spoke directly to Dean Fitzsimmons yesterday.

They will start pulling from the waitlist sometime this upcoming week. That will be their first wave, and they will be doing several. I found out that I will not be included from this first wave, but haven’t been excluded from the second either, which will happen around June 1 or 2. They are pulling in tranches of about 30-40, and while the first wave is the largest, the number of candidates being considered for subsequent waves is very small (less than 100).

Thanks for the update, dx. How did you find out you’re not in the first wave?

Oh boy, resolution. We all need this settled one way or the other. I’m out of school now, so their are many plans to make, but I can’t make them all with this big “maybe” out there …
