The Harvard Waitlist Waiting Room 2014 Thread

Gcall: Jinks

Gcall: You owe me a coke :)

6: Won’t pick up some weird accent …

Fenway: I’ll get that to you the first day we are both at Harvard ;)

This one probably shouldn’t be on the official list as not everyone will agree to it, so as a personal one that may apply to others

6.5: Won’t have to live in close proximity to the Red Sox

Someone from my school supposedly got a call of acceptance about 45 minutes ago. I don’t know her terribly well, but one of my best friends does and he told me that she just got in.

Forget about losing your deposit, not having to pay Harvard’s tuition!
(though I realize financial aid can make that less extreme for a lot of people)

Ouch.
GCall: Our minds definitly do not think alike.

@gcall1090 - I agree with 6.5 :slight_smile:
4. I won’t have to go through another excrutiating decision process, (this part is more personal) since I really don’t know if I would rather go to Harvard or Yale… in fact, part of me is hoping I don’t get in so I don’t need to deal with it

No obnoxious “CHANCE ME CHANCE MEEEEEEEE” people begging for your opinion on CC because they stalked your username back a year and saw you got off the waitlist.

@Fenway: I guessed that that would be your reaction given your name, hence why I prefaced it that it was a personal reason lol

@iluv11alot,

forgot about that. Maryland is planning to PAY me to go to UMCP. I would have to give that up :frowning:

Are you B/K?

Hmmmmmm… :)

So far then we have:

I won’t have to spend the rest of my life wondering if it’s better to tell the truth or duck the question when someone asks me where I went to college.

I won’t have people bugging me for recommendations/influence when they find out I went to Harvard.

Maybe I can come back for grad school and enjoy that more.

Don’t have to forfeit your current deposit

Won’t pick up some weird accent
6.5 Won’t have to live next to the Red Sox

Not having to pay Harvard tuition
5.5 Not having to make decisions between Harvard & other great school

No “Chance Me” requests
4.5 Avoid the New England weather

…I put any personal reasons as “.5”

Not having to be with obnoxious Boston people. For me, the Midwest has much nicer people.

3 AP credit at Harvard doesn’t exist
3.5 I have to give up the trimester system for a semester system

I won’t get called a ■■■■■ by someone for saying I got accepted.

Welcome! I’m putting college of matriculation in brackets. Please state your own and I’ll add it!

If your name is in bold PLEASE come out and say hi so we can confirm that you are remaining on the waitlist! Thanks!

3. Tough AP Policy at Harvard
3.5 Semester vs. Trimester system

@qizixite They do actually give AP credit in the form of their accelerated program, it’s just tough

Only if you want advanced standing, which is totally not worth it
