“i’ve been a CC lurker for awhile now and have been checking this thread for awhile but never made a username…i didn’t expect a call at all today…”

How come this guy allegedly “joined” after he got a call, but join date is listed as “Sep 2009”?

I am so confused right now…I called Harvard and they say the first wave hears back end of May. I don’t know who is right or wrong about what day we hear back or if they have already started notifying wait listed students.

Netthreat was joking. Are you guys serious?

Whoops, I was looking at the previous page. Looks like its been pointed out already.

thank you to the people who believe me!! i am just really really really happy right now

i guess i shouldn’t have written i just made a username i did make this in september but never posted anything before…i tried making a new one because i forgot this username but when i tried making a new one it asked for my email and when i put it in it said that i already had a username so it sent me the username and passwrod to my email…again sorry i made the mistake of writing that honestly if you don’t want to believe me it’s ok i understand everything seems suspicious or whatever

yeah i was really confused when she called me too because from what i read what you guys said they didn’t send out stuff till thursday or wednesday? haha my mom wanted me to call back to check! lol

Congrats to those claiming to be off the WL. You succeeded in…
-lowering the quality of this thread
-making the legit waitlistees more nervous
-fooling a few trusting souls here.

dude it’s for reals!!
I just got the call in 4th period today too.
I’m an international living in the States though, so maybe the internationals are getting the calls first.

SUPER EXCITED!!

I’ve been lurking, but I SIR to princeton first if the list is still any use.

Collegeahh28:

Congratulations!

Could you share with us which part of the country you live in? Also, could you tell us which adm. rep called you? Thanks.

Good luck and best regards.

thank you soophie! im from boston i’m not an international but it’s always been my dream to go to harvard…really i would never go out of my way to revisit my old username that i havent posted anythign with just to screw with you guys…thats just messed up

congrats soophie! are you def going?

Congrats Soophie!

Can you tell us where you are located? Thanks

was lurking in brown forum

see the brown wait list thread posts 89 & 92.

fireandrain is a reliable alumni poster.

collegeahh28: exactly the same feeling. Princeton is definitely not a bad school by any measure, but I just liked Cambridge and Harvard better. It’s not the name, it’s really the place.

I’m definitely going unless the financial aid is unreasonable (which I doubt will be). You too then I’m guessing?

Thanks Piggle. From the info on the Brown thread, it appears VassarMom is not credible.

So I cant decide where I stand on these claims. On the one hand, they aren’t over-the-top claims and seem credible at first. However, a good ■■■■■ would know not to go overboard. Beyond that, anyone with established links to this forum have placed the date at either Wednesday or Thursday, and their lack of former posts concerns me. However, to give the benefit of the doubt to humanity (because honestly it depresses me whenever my cynicism is proven true by people acting so stupid as to create these types of fake posts), I am going to reserve judgement for now. I am just going to ignore any posts about waitlist decisions until someone we are familiar with comes forward. And, let’s not forget that rejections go out along with the acceptances, and I am guessing rejections will be e-mailed as well.

Seems to be a lot of confusion about whether anyone is in, or no one, or they’ll start tomorrow or the next day or next month. Meanwhile, what if we generate a list of the “Top 10 reasons I’m better off not getting accepted from Harvard’s waitlist”? This could help a lot of us.

I suggest for number 10: I won’t have to spend the rest of my life wondering if it’s better to tell the truth or duck the question when someone asks me where I went to college.

9: I won’t have people bugging me for recommendations/influence when they find out I went to Harvard.

1-8: No other legitimate reasons.

Just kidding.

8: Maybe I can come back for grad school and enjoy that more.

7: Don’t have to forfeit your deposit to your second choice.

Well, I doubt this will do much to cheer me if a rejection happens, but…

7: Don’t have to forfeit deposits at current schools

ha, Fenway. Guess great minds think alike
