The Harvard Waitlist Waiting Room 2014 Thread

Congrats to people accepted. Good luck to the rest of us!
This somehow seems appropriate:

I might as well join in now. Matriculating at MIT at the moment.

so… as an international not getting any call at the moment… i must say im very depressed. i will fail my ap exam tmrw :frowning:
i did talk to my reg. officer and she said “most” students will hear something tomorrow, if that makes any of you feel better!

GOD hahahha you guys who already got into SUPERB universities HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT! YOU ARE ALREADY IN A DREAM UNIVERSITY! so please stop worrying, some of us were not accepted to those places hahaha

@Macarenaps
well just so you know, i didnt get into a SUPERB university. this is really my only opportunity for the time being. :p

same here  I meant those who alreade got into MIT, Penn, Yale, Princeton, Georgetown, etc

@Macarenaps: Haha, yeah, same thoughts here. I find it a little weird how melancholy some people are even though they are matriculating at princeton or yale, etc. Granted, Harvard would still be my first choice regardless of where else I got in, but if I had my deposit down at another really great school as opposed to a “better than good but not really great” school, I dont think I’d be as anxious as I am.

I’m in the same boat as pooooh. haven’t posted for a while but i’ve been following the thread haha.
Enrolled at U. Melbourne in Australia. I’m GMT +10 so I’m reeeaaaally hoping for an email…

Though it is 9pm’ish over there isn’t it

haha i agree, people who already got into princeton, yale, stanford, mit, penn, etc. etc. need to chill out! i would kill (…well not literally, but you know what i mean) to get into any of those schools. for me, it’s either community college or harvard. i mean… that’s pretty extreme. so i think i get to be super nervous about it :s

hahahaha I feel you pooooh… I am in the same boat as gcall1090 :)

does anyone know if calls or emails will be sent the same for internationals? Are they REALLY saying who got on thursday? OML I am nervous hahahha

I think, with just a few exceptions, we all agree that tomorrow will be the day for most of us. The real question is when? That’s what I’m freaking out about! I really hope sooner rather than later- I don’t want to have to go all day without knowing!

relax wax… thats what I will do and just check my mail during the night or the next day… GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL! YOU ARE ALL AWESOME PEOPLE WHETHER YOU GO TO HARVARD OR NOT! MAKING THE WAIT LIST IS STILL A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT! DO NOT BE DISCOURAGED!

I think for the most part, the people on this thread, including myself, who are already going to these great colleges aforementioned, are anxious for the results not because we are dissatisfied. I am thrilled to be going to Penn next year! But it has been a long wait, and I think most people have been strung out by the process (CC definitely hasn’t assuaged any anxiety), and I know I just want resolution. That’s really what we all want right now. Hopefully everyone here is satisfied with their current college. I really feel for all of you who claim that this is your one shot at a “good” college. But most of the people on this thread, especially the more active ones, would be thrilled if they get a call tomorrow or Thursday, no matter what their alternative is. I am more anxious to finally be finished with college admissions than I am to know the final result, if that makes sense.

Boggler, I agree 100%.

I understand… then you will be able to decide and not be with all this uncertainty I guess, however be sure that wherever you end up will be a GREAT place  it has been MONTHS since everything started! A long and arduous process for everyone of us, which will FINISH AT LAAAAAAAST!

That does. I love my current college, it’s been my first choice since day 1 and the only campus I’ve ever seen, and I would be SO HAPPY. But you just want to know because the wait’s been so long, and Harvard financial aid is really amazing.

annoying that he took somebody else’s place… however, if he faked his way in, I do not think he will last long… just saying haha

I’m thrilled to be going to Vandy next year, disappointed by my Y and P rejections, but all I really want is resolution to this whole process. Then I can kick butt when I apply to grad schools.

@Mac: Yeah, looks like he’ll be spending some time in jail, which he thoroughly deserves. But that still doesn’t get some poor kid that spot that he stole back. Honestly, the guy got caught because he was applying for Fulbright and Rhodes scholarships…probably two of the most prestigious scholarships that there are, and he was attempting to fraud his way into them

I suppose that’s a healthy attitude. I mean, I do realize that grad. school is the far more important factor. And if I keep in contact with the professor who wrote me a rec. letter I’ll probably have a good shot since he is really important in Harvard’s history grad. program. But that knowledge doesn’t make me want this any less lol
