The Harvard Waitlist

I got waitlisted, along with A LOT of people i know. So I'm wondering exactly how many people get on the waitlist? And how many of those are eventually admitted?

Basically, what are my chances now? slim?

keep hope, almost everyone stands an equal chance...slim if you count the probability...but not much lesser the odds you require to get on a waitlist ...cheer up!

Yea I was waitlisted too and I see on CC that a lot of people are waitlisted. Whats the usual percentage of people getting accepted from the waitlist?

I would really like to know how many people they normally waitlist. I'm actually kind of excited that I wasn't outright rejected :)

i feel the same!!! atleast they kept our hearts :)

exactly....

harvard waitlisted half of my school....

Chances are always slim at Harvard. Heh.

I was waitlisted too, and I had been willing to bet my life on a rejection, so... I guess I'm not terribly unhappy.

I got waitlisted by Harvard, but I don't think I will stay on the list. I<3 Dartmouth. Anyway, that's one person off the list, more chances for u guys!

Yeah! OK, now all I need to happen is for everyone else to decide not to stay on the list...

Me too! Although I <3 Yale...
Good luck to everyone else!

me three. :D go bulldogs!

also, did anyone else notice how they said "return the enclosed postcard"...in the email? grin

waitlisted too...im definately staying on the list. out of the 14 or so kids i've heard from in my area, 3 have gotten in, 2 rejected, and 9 waitlisted....

Waitlisting sucks.

Harvard, Yale, AND Penn of all things.

So now the question is,

To stay waitlisted, or not to stay waitlisted,

and

Duke vs. Dartmouth?

Hi guys! G'luck to everyone who's waitlisted. I got waitlisted somewhere else so I just wanna ask what do you do to increase your chance apart from updating your last semester's grades?? Thanks a lot for any inputs.

I'm waitlisted too. The funny thing is, I think that the new FinAid package has a lot to do with the changes in the admissions process. In other words, a lot of us may have been accepted in previous years (people on CC are a strong buch of applicants). Good luck to those who will stay on the waitlist (I know I will). :) Keep your hopes up guys (and gals sigh).

i personally know 4 harvard acceptees. 3 are turning down harvard for duke/washu/columbia...hahaha, this 25% yield is hilarious.

i seriously hope harvard has an overall 25% yield this year....that's about the only way i'll ever get off the WL.

same here.. sigh.. I AM REALLY TIRED OF WAITING! well, still thinking what to do though... so r u guys staying as "active candidates"?

I'd expect to see 30-40 taken off the waitlist eventually.
