The Hows and Whens of Paying Your Tuition Bill

:) Welcome to "The Hows and Whens of Paying your Tuition Bill (for Dummies)".
Kidding. I posted this in another thread, but just thought I'd repost it so it's easier to see.

How to pay your tuition bill:
b** https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentEBill/StudentBilling
b** Click on View or Pay Bill, and log-in with your PID/PAC.
b** Scroll down to PAYMENT OPTIONS WITH "E-check"/b
b
You can choose to pay your last statement or your current balance.
As for now, your last statement and your current balance should be the same because the September bill came not too long ago.
b** Once you click on Pay Current Balance, you will be taken to a pop-up window about e-check payments.
For this, be sure you have your (1) Bank Number, (2) Routing Number, and (3) your name and billing address. ;)
All this information is available on a check so you can just rip one off your parents' (or your) checkbook.
b** Enter in the appropriate information, with the appropriate amount of money, and happy birthday, you just bled a few thousand dollars from your bank.

There is also a Direct Deposit method of payment, but being that I haven't tried that yet... Information not available. ;o

Payment Due: September 29 (new undergraduates)

Winter 2007
E-bill Available: December 1 (continuing undergraduates)
Payment Due: December 20 (continuing undergraduates)

Spring 2007

If you enroll in TRIP, you can choose to pay per quarter or by academic year. There seems to be a fee for this though, so caution.

Remember: You can find everything in the Finance tab under the big "Current Students" tab in TritonLink.

To have your parents pay your bills for you, you can just authorize them as a payer and woohoo, education bills taken care of. Not. It's actually pretty easy but... "For Dummies", so here it goes...

Authorizing a parent/payer:/b https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentEBill/StudentBilling
(2) Click on **Authorize a parent/payer
and log-in.
(3) Fill in a parent's name/b and **email address and click Save.
(4) Ask your parent to check his/her email address. Once you receive the email UCSD sends, click on the link to create an username and password.
If you have trouble with creating the username/pw, try logging out of your (student) account and re-clicking on the link. If it still doesn't work, try changing browsers. It didn't work too well on my Firefox.

That's it. Once the parent is authorized, he/she will just need to go to the same URL (https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentEBill/StudentBilling) and click on Authorized Parent/Payer Menu, or he/she can have the following page bookmarked: https://www-act.ucsd.edu/studentEBill/PayerBilling. From there on out, paying should be the same procedure.

The end.

neat! i am going to bookmark this wonderful website!

You may not make an E-Check payment at this time because your current balance is $0.00.

:) Your bill is all paid off (for this quarter).

Don't forget to mention that you can't make partial payments via E-Check. E-Check makes you pay the full amount plus an extra $.50 fee charge. You can only make partial payments by sending them a check or going directly to the Cashier's Office and pay there.
