So earlier this year I was invited to an honors society (forgot which one, but it had a GPA requirement of 3.0+) and should be able to get admissions to Alpha Lambda Delta (honors freshmen society, 3.5+, didn't get the invite for some reason, but I got a 3.51 GPA first year, so I should be able to get in if I want to).

I've seen people mention that they're president or something of such clubs, in which case I could see these things as being a boost as an EC. But if I would be joining just for the sake of adding them as an EC, would it be worth it?

I'm not really interested in them for the sake of the "honors" and wouldn't plan on being on any executive boards for them, it'd be almost purely for something to be added on my resumes and such. But since they only require a certain GPA for admissions, do they even hold any merit (either for transferring or job recruitment) as the people will know that it's just dependent on your GPA? I have several other EC's, so there's not any real "lack" of EC's, but I don't know if these actually look impressive. If they do, then I would pursue them, but if they're just another thing like "National Honors Society" which don't really require much at many schools, then I don't really see a point.

Hope someone can help, thanks!
