They’re competing with H and P which can still keep their RD rates high since they have scrapped Early. And I do think it’s going to harm them. While they want to appear selective, they do not want to discourage potential applicants. If that happens, then the pool wold be smaller and the rate might (oh the horror) rise. I think they want it to keep it at a constant rate.
Go sleep! That reminds me- I just slept off and woke up too late for my math tution. ****. Such is life these days.
Plus my Yale applicantion looks like a joke. I’ll probably get a proper personal letter from the President about my daring to submit such a clown of an application. :p

That reminds me of what happened yesterday. The day before I was up pretty much all night studying for a Chem Test. I got back from school yesterday, thinking I would work on a few essays. I sat down on my bed, opened my netbook, typed 3 words, thought I’d lie down for a while, and woke up at 4.30 in the morning. ■■■.
On the other hand, today was a half day for Thanksgiving, and one more day till the weekend! Joy
Please Pix, I bet your application was not a joke. You’re overreacting. I’m sure it was just fine and I admire you for finishing it in time to submit it SCEA, unlike me, le procrastinator supreme.

Rice does not provide an interview in India!
How is that even remotely possible!
They are offering one in Luxembourg, Cyprus, Trinidad & Tobago and god knows what other piece of rock … but not in India.

Was it available before and not now due to packed schedule or sumthing lyk that?
India just doesn’t figure in their drop down list in front of the Interview country?

No it just doesn’t have any interviewers here. They told me when I contacted them. Don’t worry.

Arun- LOL at that! It’s happened to me too many times to recall. Essays are draining me out. I have great ideas as before I start writing. As soon as I look at the blank expanse of white space on MS Word, mymind does likewise in blanking out.
I’d better log off and finish what i was supposed to do while I slept.

No Indian Rice alumni volunteers as an interviewer …

^ I am not surprised. It is hard to find them outside of Texas.

^hahaha

Pixie, just btw, colleges WANT a lower RD acceptance rate. That’s WHY they mail promotional materials out to everyone, etc.

I just hope at least one of us gets into one of HYP. :)

I’m very sure that everyone on this thread is going to a top college. Everyone. No exceptions whatsoever.

Guys btw Georgia Tech’s acceptance stats for EA1 (the pool in which I got accepted) are as follows-

2118 average SAT
3.99 average GPA
4519 applicants (up 17% from last year)

CRAZY, right? HOW did I get accepted lmao

^ how many got in?

Hold your horses before you place that bet, because there will be one person who’ll spoil the perfect record…me
Otherwise it applies to everyone haha.
What were the results for TiT # 18 like?
3.99 AVERAGE? Holy Shnitzel that is crazy.
Are you definitely going there then Ani?

That idk… They didn’t publish that.

The admissions officer told me that last year the overall acceptance rate for internationals was 34.667%

Anyone applying to UC?

SURE. Let’s see where you get in, Ms. supermodest Nemo!

Idk if I’m attending Tech… I’m applying to a few places for the heck of it… Let’s see where I get in from those… And umm I’m waiting for Cornell (no chance whatsoever! =[ ) and like 1-2 more univs

Not super modest. Merely realistic.
Ooh Cornell. Don’t rule it out so soon, didn’t you say you were a legacy? That’ll bump your chances quite a bit, and along with your grades and things, I’d say you have a pretty decent shot as far as Ivies go.
Any how you’ve been accepted into an amazing school already, so you’re good to go. I envy your lack of stress so early in the application process :)

Ani, did you apply to purdue ?

Count me in for the envy-list. :(

Hey, I gotta question relating to class ranks and how we need to report it. In the commonapp we are required to self-report the “class rank” right? So I’m assuming it’s the class 12th rank?
After I do self-report it, is it required that the rank is mentioned in the school transcript too?

^Yes I believe so.

Nope :P

Cornell doesn’t consider sibling legacy. =(
But I made a good mention of it in the essay though :P
