Caltech admirers, here’s something for you: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/california-institute-technology/688510-how-did-you-like-pfw.html :D

Was just reading TiT 20, mesmerized by the posts and advices there.
oh, btw tizil love ur emoticon :o

^^You read my mind with your last line :P

Haha you guys

Any “Brown” people here? ;)

No, I’m not being racist haha.

Nope. Not I. Only a hopeful adMIT here ;)

PENN there; done that, Ecnegilletni ;)

YALE at me once you get the good news, Tizil! ;)

Right I must clarify that I have utmost respect for Berkeley and Stanford. In fact I think most people would be better off going there than coming to Caltech. However, it is a well known fact and from statistics alone that Caltech has possibly the strongest average academic level among its students. If nothing but because of the congruity in the paradigm of students that enter. It is also well known that it has among the hardest grade deflation policies. It gives no credits for any APs whatsoever and there is no such thing as an introductory course. Frankly, Ive been challenged at every course ive taken no matter how “basic”. Also our core has gained much notoriety for its breadth and difficulty, so Ill go out on a limb and say that as an academic experience, Caltech is the best(worst?) amongst all science and eng schools in the US. That is not to say that is a good thing, frankly many people here wish it was a little easier and there was added dimension to life. But oh well, rewarding intellectual experience.

why do colleges have such absurd names,
I just got scolded by my mother bcoz I was thinking of applying to ‘JAIL’ university.
Now, I will have to drop YALE univ. off my list ;-)

@mysticgohan- Is it true that Caltech discourages you to pick dual majors? I mean this would be a good thing I guess, given how hard Caltech seems to be…

Well nothing like that. Obviously some double majors are harder than others. But BEM is a common second major. Usually its rather hard to double in say math and phy since you cannot double from the same department. So if you want multiple science degrees, its definitely easier elsewhere.

@tizil, :eek:

Woohooooo…at last tizil, feel estatic

What are you majoring in, mysticgohan?

Not sure. Toss up between EE/Applied Physics/Applied and Computational Math.

Answered yourself :)

I have another really important question for you. How did you pull out that z-sword? Is it true that you are stronger than SSJ3 Goku?!?!

Best of luck to everyone appearing for CBSE boards tomorrow!!

Luck is believing youre lucky. - Tennessee Williams ;)

CBSE english is atrocious. Reading over ‘note making’ makes me want to kill myself. It’s like they deliberately geared the curriculum to be as irrelevant and archaic as possible.

Best of luck to everyone.

I got a scholarship as well from UMass. Its 8.5k per annum, renewable :D

Awesome! Congrats!
