National hockey player? Thats impressive :)

@Tizil have you been to any football games in Belgium?

Waitlisted at Carnegie Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University.

Anirudha, do you know of this thing called the Priority Waitlist? I applied only to CIT within CMU.

@Angaduday: Haven’t had the pleasure of doing that yet :D

Good on you for the waitlist, Tizil. I got rejected from both SCS and CIT. It doesn’t really faze me though because CMU is way too expensive and I wouldn’t have gone there had I been accepted. It just makes me a bit pessimistic about my other decisions.

Waitlisted SCS
Accepted CIT (Comp Engineering) :)

you guys are geniuses. wow. congrats everyone. you all must have some really impressive stats. best of luck to all those waitlisted.

Wiatlisted CIT / ECE

Any idea when CMU will review Wiatlist again? Or will that happen only in May2012?

Congrats Dingly :D

And also congrats Bist and others who got waitlisted :)

Rejected by both Carnegie Institute of Technology and the Tepper School. More than anything, it comes as a big blow, since CMU was my top choice.

@Ascaris The same feeling here.

@iamthebist, Tizil7, harshikd: Congratulation.

Congratulations to all who got accepted or waitlisted
I wantes to ask that how is merit aid at CMU?? We all know that internationals don’t get FA, so like if we perform great in the semesters, do we get a good merit aid??

First of all Congratulations to all of you for all your acceptance decisions. GREAT!

Tizil and all those with multiple acceptances in hand.

Trust me choosing between GTech, UCAL and UCLA will also be quite nightmarish. That is why we closed as soon as the first decision for D came, instead of having to go through nights and nights of debate over her other choices BC, Carnegie, USC and GWU,Richmond and Villanova among others and UCAS as well. Not after the whole painstaking and tedious research process of college selection, the course selection, the essays, the deadlines of formalities for so many documents, argh… I get tired just thinking about it. But the decision was easy for us as Ds first acceptance was also from No.1 dream school on her list.

And I remember the sense of relief when she sent confirmation of enrollment. A burden had been lifted from our shoulders and there was a sense of arriving at another milestone in her life. Sort of breathe easy feeling because till that moment everyone was on the edge. And then the reality of it all and the sense of how things are going to change for the entire family from hereon begins to sink in… for REAL.

I’ve stalked this thread for ages and I’ve finally decided to make an account specifically for the purpose of joining the discussion on the day decisions start pouring in (Thursday).

My stats are 2120 SAT1 (700CR, 710M, 710WR), 690 Math II, 800 WHistory and 780 Lit.

Up till now I’ve been accepted to UCLA, CMU, UMichigan, McGill, LSE (conditional), UCSD and UCSB. Was also wait listed at Chicago :S, and rejected Northwestern.

Waiting on the Ivy’s for Thursday xD and possible NYU :P. Applied everywhere for Econ.
