Good Luck!

Hello fellow beings, an 18er here. Nice to see you all. :)

Hi folks. I’m also Indian, and I’d want to know what is the lingo classification is here. I mean, who is exactly an 18’er? I guy who starts college in 2018 or ends it?

It is college graduating class of 2018.

OK, thanks.

Hello All. And yeah, Thanks @SahilC I’m real nervous. No real help around. :D

Indiestudent - How are your finances? Most of the schools on your list are public schools and do not provide financial aid to foreign students.

Thanks there. And Is my prof. good enough? I’m not retaking the SAT cause School’s on and don’t have much time.

@texaspg Self funded for the first year I guess. Then will I be able to work as an intern or get a waiver etc?

Indiestudent, your stats are good for your desired colleges but concentrate on your EC’s now and increase your SAT by 100- 200 points and you are good to go :)

I’m in 11th Grade, and will give the admissions for Spring 2015(Class of 2019).
Best of luck to y’all participating for 2018… I can grade your essays if you want, I have okay knowledge about English Compositions.

So Everyone! Lets start: Project 2400!

Get! Set! Go!

@Crystal31 As stated in my above post, " And Is my prof. good enough? I’m not retaking the SAT cause School’s on and don’t have much time. "

Do I need to do more ECs?
I’ve been in bands for 3 years, participates in interschool band competitions, and won one of them.
I’ve also been a part of the basketball team for 3 years and we got second place last year.
I’ve done some community service at IIT Bombay for poor children.
Should I be focusing on anything else?

@SahilC Focus like a laser beam upon what you want to do, and who you wish to be after getting education. Colleges love to see determined students.

indiestudent - unfortunately, the tuition is where most of the money is needed and it is hard to cover it through work. So you should evaluate costs at each program and see if you can add schools providing financial aid or scholarships.

Sahil - where are you planning to apply.

@Anish- Determination would be shown in the application, right?

@texaspg - I’m really not sure man. This is the info I’ve gathered:

Hello 18ers gap year applicant here. Any more insane people like me who are taking a gap ? I’ve registered for calc bc and eng Lang. Will register for june SAT today

And people who are new here, remember DON’T GET INTIMIDATED MY RESULT THREADS. However If you ever feel full of yourself or overconfident or arrogant, spend half an hour there and you’ll come back straight down to earth

@texaspg If internships doesn’t cover my tuition then I might take a loan with the help of my Dad and repay it. Btw are the job opportunities for An International as aerospace engineer high? Will I be able to land a job in the US if I study there ( after UG) And also, Will companies provide internships to an International student? (P.S I’ve technically been waiting to clearing my doubts. Thanks @SahilC for creating such a forum.)

@SahilC I think @Anishbasu meant you should show your interest in your SOP (Statement - Of - Purpose)
