The Indian Thread (TiT) # 15

However,if u hav taken some EXTRAAA subject/course from others(which is generally out of bounds..)...you SHOULD mention that.......

Congratulations Badman89!! :D:D:D:D

Nice scores! :)

I'd disagree actually. Policies on this would vary from school to school; but for us those who take Science (PCMB) have a most challenging curriculum tagged on. (Trust me, having just finished two weeks of my second term exams I can vouch for the accuracy of that assertion! :) )

does SAT 2 scores count that much ...i mean i have
Physics 770,
math 1 790,
math 2 800..
but do these scores have that much weight?? i do not mean just my scores but regarding the at 2 scores of all while in admission time....

SAT II is a requirement, so obviously doing well on them has its advantages. In regards to how much they can help/hinder you, if you have low GPA and perfect SAT II scores then they help offset your GPA. I am only talking in the science/engineering perspective.

I'd agree with Lakshya. I'd also point out that sometimes they help show different interests and aptitude in various areas. (eg: if a student who's taking science courses does Literature or a Language)
I'd say for Int'ls doing more SAT IIs and scoring well shows them your level of aptitude in the subjects.

So overall, yes they are v. useful.

Ya....I agree.........they actually prove to b really helpful.....they shows ur mastery(till now) in ur field more accurately........

hi everyone! just found this thread...=)....just wondering.. can i be part of the CC indian crew??

spacepirate:???ur planing sooo late??

You have to go to the testing center to get the forms. Atleast thats how it happens here anyway.

And paratha101, WELCOME!!

i'm not sure if my test centre will have the forms.. i pray that they do!

isaacnewton: yeah, its kinda late but at least i've decided to write it now!

Welcome paratha! (sure feels unusual calling you that :) )

standby testing help needed: did anyone from india try it? did the test centre have the registration forms

(sorry for the reposting, im just desparate for an answer)

i think there was a standby tester when i took my SAT.
The best thing for you would definitely be going to the nearest US embassy and finding out. They should have all the info.

(or try to register @ CB.com .... don't know if that will work.....)

that wont work... we need a paper registration form.. and no embassy in the city :(

@spacepirate : There is no special standby form. It is the same form as that used by those who use the 'snail' mail to register for the SAT. You have to complete that form, seal it and bring it with you to the test center. In addition to that you have to bring the test fees and the extra standby test fees, in money order, paycheck or credit card form. Reach the test center early.
