Hey All,
Can anyone tell me what to expect in the interview. Also, does anyone have any tips or advice for it. Thanks so much in advance.

All interviews sort of differ, but generally, be polite, dress nicely, be a few minutes early. The interview is usu. with an alumni (unless your going on campus; I didn't have an on campus interview). This is stalkerish, but try googling you person. I googled my person beforehand and found out that he worked at a research institute (I also interned at a research place) so I knew to focus on that.
Think up some questions beforehand. And bring some sort of resume with you.

Prepare confident and natural 30 second answers to basic questions like "Tell me about yourself", "Why MIT", etc.

okay can someone define dress nicely? does this mean suit or skirt (for girls) or what?!

No tux or anything, but collared shirt and tie, I think, is pretty much the normal. For girls, I wouldn't know, but yeah, professional skirt type doesn't sound too outlandish.

for girls: i heard non-sleeves are out of question. -- yes/no?

I'm sure that clean, untorn, non-outlandish clothing provides enough of a good impression in the clothing department; the conversation with the EC (educational counselor) is so much more important.

(PS: My son dressed neatly but did wear his everyday shoes [sneakers] and did not wear a tie to his interview.)
