The Johnson Scholarship Program

o jesus.....here it goes....u know wut sucks......even if we make it through this part we have less than a 25% shot......depressing....

think about it though 1 in 10 of the entering class get the scholarship, that is really good because for instance GA Tech only gives out 4 full rides to their entire freshman class. and everyone would have had to apply before 12/9 which narrows down the pool.

when do you think we will get it, if we get it??

Actually Ga Tech gives out more than 4 full rides as part of their President's Scholar program. 5 full rides for in state and 5 full rides for out of state then they give out 24k and 12k depending on ranking within program.

I think most envelopes should be received by Thursday.

Thanks SCMom:)

ok so thats the latest then i guess. do u think we can expect them tomorrow (wednesday)

thank you SCmom, i misunderestood the person i knew who had applied for GTech. i thought she had meant 4-5 total, not depending on in or out of state.

depending on the way the envelopes were sent it could be 2-3 days or 2-9 days. Hope it is only 2-3 days!!

were they sent USPS or fedex/ups? it affects the rate of delivery by alot.

I believe they use US mail, which isn't good news for many of us. The admissions blog on Monday said, "Johnson Scholarship finalist letters are being mailed from our office today!"

For those of you who are in warmer climes, be aware that a large portion of the country, including parts of VA, are suffering through a terrible ice and snow storm, which may affect delivery.

north texas is covered in ice (2 snow days/ice days in a row!!!:)) so i probably wont get my rejection letter for a while...

so here's the sad news.
i had to send in my ACT scores and i sent in the 31 that I made
but I found out recently I made a 34 on my second try.
and now, i'll get rejected and i guess i'll just have to deal with the sad, sad, sad news.
If any of you already got your letters and know you're a finalist, CONGRATS!!!

aww that stinks miracles. but hey, maybe a miracle will happen to you. (silly pun/dumb joke i know)

Eckk yeah we've been getting a ton of snow here too, so that's good because I'm home instead of at my school's dorm right now, so if by chance it did come today I would actually be here to receive it and not have to wait a few days, but I think it's likely to be later this week.

I just got notifyed today that I didn't make the 200 finalists. Looking on this site I can see there is some pretty tough competition, but good luck to all the finalists and hopefully Ill see you on campus this fall.

did you receive an admission decision or get put back into the regular pool?? That's one thing I was never clear about in process...

hey i just got the notification that i am a finalist!!!!!! yay! i hope everyone else here gets it:)

Congratulations! How exciting for you! Nothing in our mail today.

Knight & Mesquite - can you describe your envelopes - is there a difference?

SC Mom... my son got his notification today that he is a finalist and his envelope had the letter and a brochure in it regarding the schedule of events. ( regular size envelope )

yeah its a standard sized envelope, a little fat from the brochure with the schedule in it. I was really nervous when i saw nothing was sticking out of the mailbox. I thought initially that it was a rejection letter.
