@SongnDanceMom Oh goodness. Now I’m more worried, but I’ll try not to read into it that much. Haven’t gotten a yes or no!
Did anyone get a no from TCU?
What is their procedure for waitlisting and sending out denials?
I sure hope not all of TCU’s acceptances are out!
@musicalkid98 You and me both! It’ll all work out, but no’s are a bummer.
what if you aren’t acedemically accepted to temple yet!
I know this isnt musical theater related but I’m super excited and I want to tell someone because I’m in class lol. I jutt got accepted to CCM for costuming in TD&P!!! This is my dream school and one of the only ones I applied to for costuming and I’m really happy!!!
@CostumeD That’s awesome! Congratulations!!!
Thankyou!!
Their design facilities seemed completely amazing, so big congratulations, @CostumeD!
Just a little venting. Isn’t it funny how the denials (even if only anticipated) can quickly override the joy of an acceptance? D has only received 1 official result from her 10 auditions to date, (still has 1 audition this weekend). And that was an acceptance to a school that she loved the audition, and we believe is financially viable. However instead of relaxing she’s focusing on the denials and worried there won’t be any other acceptances. 99.9% sure that Ball state is a no since she didn’t receive a letter of interest and this morning she received the dreaded “your account is unavailable” message on her Ithaca portal. So it’s time for another reminder that’s she’s already set and there are kids out there who would envy her position. She should be thankful for what she has and look forward instead of back!!! Ok I feel a little better now!
@destiny95 -if I remember correctly, at NY Unifieds, Temple was one of the schools that said they wouldn’t notify you until you were academically accepted- but who knows if that changed. It is so interesting how some schools say one thing and do something completely different!
@artsykidsmom - I feel you. So hard to help them keep perspective. Honestly, in this process, there are very few who are “not good enough” for the “major” programs, but since the programs see thousands of kids and can take only a fraction in order to make sure their students get the most performance opportunities possible, I don’t even know how to help her not take it personally… One of the current students at OU’s MT auditions this past weekend said the most insightful thing - “When you graduate, it will literally be your job to fail.” I’m really hoping these schools will give them the tools to work through that eventuality. My D is pretty good at that, but as the frenzy builds up and comes to a conclusion, she’ll realize she’s tougher than she thought she was.
Son felt his chances were good at his #1 pick and his CCM audition went much better than expected (where Bubba asked him extra questions and asked him to sing an additional song.) It was quite a gut-punch when (after weeks of hoping) he received denials from both of them. It caused him to question his path and approach to his auditions. Then he received a big packet from his #2 school (where his audition was just “meh”) that would end up being his acceptance into their MT program. While he was tearing into that envelope, he received a call on his cellphone from the head of his #4 school’s MT department offering him a spot in their upcoming class. Timing is everything.
Congratulations @ManVan! Two acceptances in one day! Fabulous!
@artsykidsmom I understand you! It’s easy to let it override the joy I think because we want to be accepted everywhere, even though it’s impossible. It’s in our nature as human beings, and it’s easier to dwell on negatives. I’m extremely guilty of that myself currently. I’m trying to work on that, and I hope your D eventually can get off being stuck on these schools. It’s soooooo hard though! Wishing y’all some mental strength, cause Lord knows we need it.
@ManVan Man! That’s a bummer for CCM. I’ve seen a lot of posts on here about multiple rejections then like two acceptances on the same day. Timing really is everything. I hope for something like that to happen to me, but we’ll see! Thanks for sharing. Makes me feel a lot better.
@ManVan this certainly is a roller coaster! Congratulations on the acceptances.
It’s a roller coaster that has me feeling a little nauseous at the moment. We are waiting on many schools that other people are hearing from and I just want to know! Have any artistic denials gone out from Rider, Montclair or Univ. of Northern Colorado? Or should hearing nothing at this point lead us to think it is probably a “no”?
@rocsocks I know Rider has sent out acceptances, but I’m on some odd hold from them. You can try the myrider portal, but mine doesnt show anything as changed.
@ABMT16 turns out they actually emailed me yesterday to let me know I was accepted into the MT program! I’m hoping for the best for you!
