S just got a waitlist notification from Utah. Notification came by email.
Not a good start to the week. Shortly after getting the waitlist from Utah he got a rejection from Pace. Pace was his dream school, so he’s taking it pretty hard. Still, we have a couple of good acceptances and 6 more to hear from. It’s a setback, but not the end of the world.
It’s been a hard start for us as well.
Are these pace notifications through snail mail or email?
@destiny95 Snail Mail here.
@destiny95 - our rejection was through snail mail. Two envelopes from pace today… a big one about the honors college and the small one from the performance dept. @Tahuna and @stagedoormama - Pace was one of my d’s favorites too… It was rough for a minute but she bounced right back! We have 7 to hear from still…none of which should happen before next week so at least I won’t be stalking the mailbox for a few days. Hang in there
@destiny95 Pace is still making calls - at least for the BFA acting program. My son got a call this evening.
Hang in there, everyone. I thought my D would be dejected over the CCM “no” after being in the “Hold” group and hoping, but instead she said she felt proud of making it so far at a school like CCM and she actually felt happier about that than sad about the denial. To all the kids out there - you’re inspiring!
No from Utah, also by email.
Sad day here too. D received rejections from her top 2 schools, Pace and Ithaca, on the same day! Knew they were coming but getting the actual letters made it real. This was after what she thought was a disappointing audition at ocu , her #3,this weekend. Still have 8 schools to hear from and 1 acceptance in hand. So the agreement is she can only mope for 24 hours and then has to let it go!
Question… Should we let pace admissions know, when academically admitted, that we are not interested in regular admission after the denial from MT or do they just figure it out? This is my first rodeo- so I really don’t know
I would let them know, but expect that you will still get phone calls from admissions asking if you are interested. We got them well after D was rejected there and we told them every time that she was not interested in any other program.
@sleepymom You don’t have to let them know if you are not going, they will probably still call anyway.
Also a general comment, pace only sends artistic rejections and wait lists through regular mail. Accepts will be mailed too, but almost always called first for MT. Also ALL artistic decisions are small envelopes so don’t freak out if you find that in the mail!
My daughter was one of the early Pace calls and we haven’t received the official letter yet. So I would say, no news is good news for those of you still waiting:)
Just got my first acceptance, from Utah, i feel relief
Congrats@BwayMex! Still waiting on an acceptance, here. Lots more schools to hearing form, so we’re trying not to panic. Enjoy the moment!
Slight comic relief for us, at least: D got a rejection letter from a school she hadn’t even applied to (unified audition). Then she got an acceptance to a school she hadn’t applied. (Unifieds again)
Last week after getting so many rejections we just had to laugh that even places she didn’t want were rejecting her! The we got an accept so it balanced the absurdity a bit.
At this point you can only try to chuckle at what happens, I guess. Well, she can’t but I can.
Still here and should have answer within a week about the last two biggies for her. Then we wait for news of WL status and any aid that may come from that.
Are Ithaca portals changing with MT decisions or are they being sent snail mail? We’ve heard of lots of decisions for the acting program but not much action on MT? D’s portal is still live so hoping for good news!
Congratulations @BwayMex!!! And for those of you still waiting, I hope you get good news soon @claire74.
Regarding the Ithaca portal, I say no change means you are still in the running @livetoday. The banner on the portal will change when you are accepted. If you are rejected, the portal will shut off and you won’t be able to access it. A snail mail letter will arrive as well. In our case, D’s portal changed to accepted on the same day she received a snail mail acceptance letter and a separate scholarship letter. What timing, eh? Not sure how they did that.
