Sorry to hear that @ABMT16! I hope you get good news from TCU soon and I’m happy you have at least one acceptance in the bag!
@bfahopeful I am not sure my daughter just said that she got an email stating that “admissions decisions” will be posted today at 7…
Well a no from TCU today as well. Rejection after rejection. It really stinks! I’m to the point where I’m thinking about taking a gap year and trying to improve my skills and re-audition, but I can’t afford to lose my academic merit scholarships
So sorry @ABMT16 Are you still waiting on any? You just need one. As for a gap year, I wonder if you could defer an admission to one of the schools with good academic scholarships in case you decide to attend the following year (or re-audition for the following year).
@bfahopeful there’s nowhere I’m crazy about to try and defer honestly. I have an admission to Ohio Northern’s BFA MT, but it’s just not really my ideal place. Middle of nowhere, forced to live on campus for 3 years, extremely high housing rates, etc.
Hang in there. We do know a few kids that took a gap year and found it wonderful. One boy has done very well in his 2nd round of auditions. I realize this is awful right now and I truly feel for your situation. Perhaps this is a strange opportunity(as you said) to work on your craft over the next year. Plenty of kids audition more than once. I think if your heart is set on this career path, you have the stamina and drive to get through it. I read about a boy that was a freshman at Carngie Mellon (in an academic major) and he tried to transfer to acting. He didn’t get in, but knew it was what he really wanted. He left school and did an unpaid internship at a small theater in New York for a year (as a learning experience …said it was cheaper than tuition). He auditioned for the following year for BFA acting and ended up back at Carnegie as an acting major.
I guess what I’m saying is your thoughts about working on your acting and re-auditioning may be the perfect path for you to take. You seem driven and passionate about this. Keep your chin up!
@bfahopeful I still have a few schools to hear from, but I guess I’ll figure it out by May 1. Thanks though.
If you have a few schools to hear from, this isn’t over yet, @ABMT16 ! Take the night to be disappointed and maybe sad, but pull yourself up tomorrow! And, even if you get all no’s, this path isn’t closed to you at all! It’d just be different from what you thought.
Got a no via portal from Penn State. Bummed
sorry to hear that @momma2four! Hang in there!
@ABMT16 did TCU offer a BA redirect and would you consider?
Tcu offers a ba direct for anyone admitted to the university academically.
@mtgirl225 Yes they did, and my friend did it two years ago. She petitioned for BFA Acting at the end of her freshman year and got in, and is seemingly happy. She does feel a bit behind in the process though. I don’t think at a $40,000 price tag I’d take the risk
I’ve been accepted to 4 programs (U of Arts, Rider, Marymount Manhattan, Viterbo, Muhlenberg) , rejected from 1 (Penn State), and still waiting on the others. Well, I’ve heard back from 6/16 schools that I auditioned for!! Best of luck to everyone waiting. This is the hardest part!!! BAL!
@broadwaybabyyy congrats on the acceptances and good luck on the pending applications! When did you get the acceptance to Muhlenberg? I didn’t think RD notifications went out yet.
First time to post…hope it is done correctly. S received acceptance phone call from OU (Oklahoma) MT on Thursday. Haven’t seen any other posts about notifications from OU here or elsewhere on CC. Do others see anything in other threads I may not know about?
@SeekingMT - you are in the right place! You might want to also post your question on this thread:

Congrats @SeekingMT!!!
