Posting a little bit but mostly lurking to alleviate stress @dramamama412 . Haha! We have 1 acceptance, 1 waitlist, but have a few more to hear from. She (bravely-and crazily) only auditioned at 8 schools. Best of luck with the rest!
Still trying to figure out how to respond directly to a person but thank you for the welcome mtmomofone! Break legs to you too!
@dramamama412, just use the @ sign immediately before the name and it will show up in blue once you post the comment. Took me a while to figure this out, too! Welcome–and congrats to your daughter on her acceptance–they are so much harder to get than you imagine when you first begin the process!
S has heard nothing from Ball State or Coastal. Are they still notifying? His Penn State Portal is unchanged. Opinions please?
@Dankadon We have still not heard from Ball State either, not sure what to do on it. I did just see a post on the Coastal thread that said emails are going out over a period of 4 days in waves. I do believe they started Thursday or Friday of last week so it should be soon!
Did he have an interview at his audition at Penn State? And when did he audition?
@Dankadon, there is a scary looking white envelope from Ball State sitting on my dining room table right now, waiting for my unsuspecting son to come home from school. It’s small and skinny, so I expect it is not good news. Three other envelopes there, too–one large, two small. I’ve felt sick to my stomach from the moment the mail arrived this morning. . .
Light, steam, ‘obvious post office sorting machine damage’. Lots of ways to see inside…
The flashlight from one’s iPhone is pretty strong.
@Mtmom2015, ha, ha. Told myself I wouldn’t do that, tempting though it is!
@lovetoact, thank goodness I have an inferior phone, then, so I’m not tempted to try!
@claire74 you’re a better person than I am. I’ve had a tab open on my computer for every school and I reload each one constantly to check the portals! My son doesn’t even want the portal info and wants me to look and tell him, so I’m not a bad person for doing that
@lovetoact, It is a struggle, I tell you. More power to you, if you can help soften the blow–you know your kid best. A long time ago, when she was in fifth grade, I steamed open a Valentine’s card that my daughter was mailing to a boy at school. It was cute and adorable, but I’ve felt guilty ever since!
does anyone believe the kids are handling this better than the parents? In my house it is 100% true!
Up until now, I have been upset that our mail does not arrive until after 5pm. However, maybe it is better that I do not look at the envelopes all day. @mtmamma2020, I am one of the parents who is more stressed that the kid.
Envelope size DOES NOT matter LOL…rejection from Montclair was a large envelope, they sent enrollment materials still trying to get her to come to school there as major undeclared. One of our WL’s was a small envelope and D’s friend had an acceptance that came in a small envelope…there is no telling! Luckily my D has given us permission to open the mail. Good luck to all decisions should be rolling in now!
@claire74 I thought I read earlier Ball State was making phone calls…but I could be wrong
@Ducky312 - Penn State: He did NY Unifieds. Was 2nd to last seen on last day (blizzard day.) @claire74 - Everyday he says “did you get the mail today?” Also he says: “I check my emails every 5 minutes”
Everyday I’m SO THANKFUL he has a couple acceptances…But still waiting on a bunch. The ones who we KNOW are notifying is what is so frustrating…
Edited to say he will NOT allow me to open anything, even if it’s obviously about financial aid, etc…
Marymount Manhattan’s acceptance came in a thin white envelope. We’ve learned not to judge the contents by the size of the envelope.
@dakadon perhaps he’s still in the running. Auditioned on main campus fairly early. If you didn’t get an interview you knew you were out.
