missysnafu, did you already here back from NYU? i thought the decision will be notified from the mid-april. im an transfer applicant though.

I feel stupid about asking which university "WashU" represents, sorry

I personally want to go work in Korea, because I feel that racial discrimination is still present in many parts of the US and because Korea is one of the Asian Tigers/Dragons or whatever the east asian countries call themselves Korea will give us a lot of opportunities as they still lack Koreans who are bilingual who have majored in something conventional for Koreans (Med and Business and Engineering)

Just a general question but do you consider yourself fluent in Korean?
And if you guys want to work in Korea?

BTW to Torrencecali
did you mean Washington university in St Louis or St Louis university?

blastah - I heard back from NYU about 2 weeks ago. I received a small envelope in the mail that invited me to a 'Sunday at the Square' day at the school. I think I received the invitation b/c I live in the USA (i've been here for a year), and also b/c i'm a freshman applicant.

Don't lose hope, coz i'm sure u still have a good chance at getting in!

P.S. Btw, i'm an econ major too, and i hope to be a businesswoman in the future!!

torrence: had a growing suspicion that u were corean... haha

oo the ib diploma. i remember that... hated ib french with a passion :D

i'm an art history major, transfer.

hey! i'm transferring too! under art history major!! but i bet u are not on ur first year! ha!!!

dude, i feel dwarfed. i got 1880 in my sat.

but, i got 5 in ap us history, ap art history!! now, let me tell u, ap us history is considered the most difficult ap class.

lol nope sauron i'm definitely not in my first year
im from the times sats were out of 1600
have u heard from anywhere else after ucr?

torrence: no no i figured u were corean from other posts

thanks missysnafu. i gotta straight up.

TorranceCali, are you a transfer from a korean university?
what university are you currently attending?
and BTW I didn't mean St Louis University but Washington University in St Louis, do you think a lot of people in Korea have heard of it before? Not necessarily the general public but more like employers or firms.

^ no..
i heard that it gets rather 'lonely' out there, as in, there aren't a lot of established connections in corea.. a lot of international students hear about wustl for the first time when they apply lol. but it's getting better.. it's getting more recognition especially since there's more info & so many students are studying abroad & bringing degress back home. i would think by the time u graduate u shouldn't have to worry about getting the recognition u want. although u probably wouldn't have a whole lot of 선배s/동기s & stuff yet, but u kno. good luck =)
