<p>ok... i asked this but didn't get an answer... so, what does bump mean?</p>
<p>On the message boards here, the threads are listed in order of most recent reply. If no one replies to a thread, then eventually it gets moved down the page, or onto the second page of threads. "Bumping" a thread by posting something sends it to the top of the page where the likelihood of someone reading it is increased.</p>
<p>Let me add that I don't like "bumping" at all and that I will usually erase them. I feel they are sloppy and totally lacking in effort and creativity. They also seem unfair, kind of like voting twice in the same election.
I believe that a post gets exactly as much feedback as it deserves. Therefore, if you want a lot of responses, write better queries.</p>
