<p>Anyone here who applied UMich hoping to join the Daily if they attend? I'm literally obsessed with it...I've been to two of their HS journalism conferences and it's honestly so great and one of the reasons I love Umich so much. </p>
<p>(Thought I'd bring a lighter topic to this board haha since everyone is freaking out about EA!)</p>
<p>I wrote for the Daily in the early 80s. It was a good experience. The staff was bright and hip and I appreciated the opportunity to apply my writing skills and to put out articles that today are available on Google. I learned a bunch about journalism. The technology was a bit different back then. We used typewriters. The printing was via typeset.</p>
<p>My son writes for the Arts section this year as a freshman- he is a film critic - he loves it! Some sections will accept submissions from any student, like Opinion, while others you need to apply for and hopefully get accepted.</p>
