I know some people are not wild about corsages but I was very touched to get one last year for son’s wedding(and didn’t know in advance I was getting one). Mine was a wrist corsage, which luckily would have definitely been my preference.
Have you looked at the Jessica Howard petites at Macy’s? They seem to have a lot of cute dresses such as:
Thanks. I’ll be heading to Macy’s with returns this week. Fit/Flare style usually works well for me. Was thinking those linked dresses would be too short/youthful for me, but I’ll try some on at the store.

I just finished trying on several dresses I ordered from Nordstrom. I went online just now to see if they had one of them in a smaller size and this dress popped up on bottom of my screen. I’m not looking for floral as my daughter prefers me in a solid color, but I thought this dress is very pretty for a garden wedding @Colorado_mom I love Eliza J dresses but so far can’t find one that will be appropriate for my daughter’s wedding.

When you are in Macy’s you might want to take a look at the jumpsuits.
The jumpsuit I got at Macy’s for MOB in navy worked very well for me. ‘A’ shaped (I’m a pear) that looked like a dress that flowed with what was supposed to be a mid calf length.
Instead of getting a petite size (I’m 5 ft tall) I got a regular length and it hit my ankles which ended up perfect for me making it look more formal. Looking at Macy’s website they have some really cute ones that are dressy.

Remember that those models are likely 5’10", so the dresses would be longer on you.
This has a solid color feel but has the muted chiffon sparkly flowers; very garden party. It’s about 7-8" longer than the other Jessica Howards I posted.

@Colorado_mom , Good luck at Macy’s! I went in person to Macy’s , Nordstrom, and Dillard’s but ended up ordering online from all 3 , just more selection online and I didn’t find anything
I really liked when I looked in person. I had the most success with Dillard’s. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t find something right away. It all works out.
My son’s wedding was a mid May outdoor garden wedding with “cocktail attire.” Most wore knee length/below the knee. Both moms wore one color pastel colors , lots of the younger guests were in florals, knee lenghth to midis. Don’t recall anyone coming in anything heavy, long, beaded, etc. The bride and bridesmaids really were the only ones in long gowns.

Love the style except the hole. 
a seamstress can do some magic to minimize it if the hole is too big but the rest of the dress fits well.
Loving the Jessica Howard & Adrianna Papell suggestions! Colorado_mom, I bet you will find something fantastic! The choices in your pictures aren’t doing you justice. I agree that you should try on even if they look too short in the pictures - the models are tall & leggy.

Love that dress! I took a chance and ordered a dress for a wedding I’m attending this weekend that also has a tiny triangle cutout in the same area. Now I am frantically trying to self-tan the skin there, as it is BRIGHT WHITE 
I may have to resort to a bit of bronzer!

@Colorado_mom In my opinion the MOB and MOG should have a dress or outfit that is a step up from a wedding guest. The dresses you’re trying while nice seem more appropriate for a guest.
