I like dress #2 - flattering and looks comfortable. The design on dress #1 draws attention to itself rather than the wearer. Dress #3 is attractive and dressy but can’t tell if the material is pulling or if those are dart designs. Looks least comfortable just because it’s snug.
I think dress number 1 is out of the running. I thought I liked it best but when I photographed it, it wasn’t as flattering.
Dress number 2 was a surprise. The only issue with it is a low back that I could not figure out how to get a photograph of . It’s great but I would need a spray tan. But it looks great from the front and I think the colors are great.
Dress number 3 has ruching and is flattering and comfortable in the size up from my usual size. One came in stock and I nabbed it.
I like 3 best
From the photos, I vote for #3. Which is the most comfortable?
FDIL was so unhappy with the construction of the dress she chose (and the inability of the shop to alter it correctly) that she took a train six hours to Kyiv and got a different dress. Friends, the wedding is in TEN DAYS. I don’t think the alterations are done yet. I assume she’s making another trip back.
But the most surprising part is that the first shop gave her a full refund!
me too.
Why would you need a spray tan for dress 2 because of the back? The front is lower as well. Are you still looking or are these 3 it?
I like dress 2 best. Love the color and it’s very flattering on. I also like #3 but prefer 2. I agree on eliminating dress 1.
I agree with eliminating dress 1, though it is quite dramatic—it is what you’d notice, not the wearer.
I’d choose my dress by what FEELS comfortable and what I feel better in—both 2 & 3 are nice choices.
All dresses are cute- I think #3 looks the most body-con & also elegant!
I was expecting I’d like #1 the best since unique, pretty design. It’s OK, but I do prefer #2 (my favorite colors) and #3.
I like 2 the best. 3 is nice but it feels less joyful? I fully expected to love 1, but it’s just sort of meh.
Am I remembering that you ordered these dresses in petites?? You may have written that up there - sorry I am tired!
My favorite dress is #3 because I think it fits you best. I feel like #’s 1 and 2 are too short-waisted on you, which is why I asked if you ordered petite sizing? Because I am wondering how tall you are and if your height is why you chose/choose petite sizing. I am only 5’4” or so, but I cannot possibly wear petite-sized clothing because I am very long-waisted for my height. I’m wondering if regular-sized clothing with hemming would be better for you (in general) than petite-sized clothing. I really prefer where #3 hits you at your waist. I think dress #3 is the most slimming of the three. Not saying you need slimming!! I just feel like 1 and 2 make you appear to have a bit of a tummy pooch - which I am not convinced you even have. I think they appear that way because of where they hit your waist and because there is more fabric.
I hope I am not being offensive here
Any of them would be perfectly fine.
My favorite is #3 because of the perfect fit and less frilly more modern style. I do wonder how comfortable it is to sit in. Does the slit fall nicely or will you have to fuss with it every time you sit?
I appreciate all the opinions! Great advice!
I’d have to get a spray tan with #2 because I play a lot of golf and have a neck tan line and a pale back. There is quite a line even though I’m not tan anywhere else.
@Hoggirl, I think you are one to something. I’m 5’1” so usually petites are perfect. But the first two dresses do feel short waisted. I am long waisted for how short I am. I tried on dress 1 in a regular size and you are correct in that I felt it fit better except it was longer. Not too long but longer.
I will try on dress 3 again and see how it feels when I sit. Didn’t try that yet.
I like the color of #2, but not where the waist hits you. Again, if it wasn’t a petite, would fit better. Because of this, #3.
I have found that many regular cut dresses and tops with seams at the waist are now too short-waisted for me, so it makes me wonder if that is a spot where they are cutting out the amount of fabric to keep costs down. So, maybe they are making all types of sizing (petites included) shorter waisted overall??
I have wondered if they thought this was slightly above the waist fit is a bit more flattering. Or fits more people?
#3 has a younger vibe than #2, to me, and looks great on you.
I think a lot of dresses have a high waist line and I hate feeling that seam around my ribs.
I finally tried on my dress that I ordered a size larger than the store had. It is still snug around the middle, but I am working on that
I like dress 1 but it may not photograph well. Dress 2 has puff sleeves which I’m not a fan of and might make it look dated in pictures in a few years. So overall 3 is the winner for me. Hard to see how the neckline looks like on it but looks like it is not a deep plunge. Looks like the fabric has stretch so should be comfortable and travel well.
