FOX News has turned to saying that the “mosque” (read: community center) is funded by a Saudi prince who is connected to funding terrorists. This same Saudi prince is the second biggest share holder in FOX’s parent company (outside of the Murdoch family). Therefore, when FOX’s ratings go up, this man is further enriched, to fund terrorists. Naturally, Jon Stewart came to the conclusion that the only way to stop the funding of terrorists is to stop watching FOX.

That’s great. No is gonna stop watching Fox, including me.

I guess some people just don’t care about our national security…

Yeah I definitely do care about our national security but Fox is the only reliable news channel. Really national security?.. get better.

Reliable what-now? News, you say? I would say massive succession of opinion shows and gold advertisements, but that’s about it. It’s “reliable” in the sense that you can always count on it producing the same thing, it just isn’t accurate. At all.

And by FOX’s own admission, their second largest share holder, who profits from their ratings, and takes a hit when they go down, funds terrorist groups. Naturally, any upstanding American citizen must therefore not watch this channel that funds terrorists.

I guess we should stop reading/watching the New York Post, Wall Street Journal, the Dow Jones, and Fox studio movie, Myspace, Hulu, all Fox networks including your local one, HarperColiins publishing books. NewsCorp is what the Saudi Prince holds and Newscorp is all I just listed and a ton more.

I agree. Let us boycott these things that fund the terrorists who use the money to buy weapons to kill American citizens/soldiers.

You do that. And do you honestly think that a few “hits” to NewsCorp is going to suddenly throw him into poverty. No matter how many “hits” NewsCorp gets, he has massive money. That’s not going to stop him. Even if he had no connection to NewsCorp do you really think he wouldn’t be funding terrorists?

His partial ownership of NewsCorp further enriches him, giving him more money to fund terrorists. But if you have no problem supporting a company that has some of its profits funneled to anti-American terrorists, I suppose that’s your choice. I, however, will boycott NewsCorp, because I do not wish to provide murderers with more weapons to murder. I suppose it comes down to individual morality, though, and how much national security matters to someone.

I guess no one has morality these days. You are very insulting right now to TONS of people and not just Americans. NewsCorp is HUGE. Good luck trying to boycott it. What an idiot.

Yes, because it is wrong to do something because it is difficult. An organization is righteous because it is large. Nice code of morality. I don’t think I’m being insulting by saying that supporting NewsCorp helps fund terrorist groups. That’s a fact, you don’t deny it, you just don’t think it’s a bad thing.

That pretty much sums it up.

To be fair though, MSNBC is just as bad as Fox News.

Does MSNBC have a major stock holder that is a part of an oppressive monarchy and helps fund terrorists?

Ok so what about soldiers who come home after fighting and just want to watch idk… House or Football. I guess they don’t have morals either, even right after coming home from the battlefield. You’re telling me my grandparents don’t have morals and they’re not good people… They definitely could and should teach you a thing or a MILLION about morals, buddy. Please go somewhere… far.

Stop watching Fox News AND ignoring Myspace? Works for me.

I would like to point out, blackbanana, that House and such premiers on Fox, not on Fox News. There is a distinction. If Rupert Murdoch were in charge of Fox Entertainment, then shows like Family Guy would not air, nor would their jokes be allowed.

I said nothing of the sort. I said it is immoral for someone who knows where the network’s profits go to continue watching, boosting the ratings and increasing advertising revenues. However, that does not make someone an immoral person, it is just an immoral action. But again, you do not seem to be refuting the “Watching FOX News funds terrorists” point, and you still want to watch it, so you wish to continue funding terrorists?

off topic alert

^^^ Actually, Rupert Murdoch is in charge of Fox Entertainment.

No news networks can be trusted to be accurate, really… Their job is to entertain in 5 minute interviews, not inform. The better of them give you their sources, so you can fact-check them.

@romani: News Corps owns ALL of Fox such as Fox, FoxNews, FoxBusiness, FoxSports, etc.

@Billy: I am not refuting that watching/reading/giving in to NewsCorps’ assets are funding terrorists. BUT, couldn’t you take it one step further? If that’s the case you should be “Boycotting” a lot of material things/brands you use/have if you think that the money you spend on a certain company has NEVER funded any criminal activity. Humans are shady; you have no clue what type of activities you “funded” by…
reading a magazine and such.

@Mosby: News cable networks are devoted to News. How are they trying to entertain?

I actively seek out such information, and when I become aware of it, I boycott those products, and attempt to persuade others to do likewise. I won’t buy Coca-Cola or anything made by the Coca-Cola Company (ranging from soft drinks to yogurts), or Nike or most big name shoe/clothing companies that produce their products in sweatshops with poor working conditions (this is limiting, but sacrifices must be made). If FOX News participates in the funding of terrorist groups, I want no part in watching it. I just wish more people felt the same.
