What do you think the most annoying things people do on facebook are?
Here's mine...

*Liking your own status - obviously if you posted it, you like it
*constantly changing relationship statuses when you're not in a relationship
*People who constantly change their names
*peepulz whu talk lik3s dis!1
*or or gurls who thwink its cwute to tawk lyke this!

There's many many more that I just can't think of right now...

^^ yeeees x_x
and the thing is, when you click on them, they lead to spam pages. rolls eyes
I reported all the ones that popped up on my page, so hopefully they stop…

people who take it too seriously; like my 2 suitemates who would constantly shriek like OMGGG DID YOU SEE STACY’S STATUS? SHUT UP! SHUT UP! HAHAHA LIKE I CAN’t BELIEVE LIKE HAHA OH MY GAWDDDD

Farmville- it’s weird enough people spend hours building llama shelters for virtual pets online, but stop sending me invites and suggestions - i request to ignore those but more pop up, Zooworld, Fishville, etc

invites for dumb quizzes like “What breakfast food are you??!”

that annoying person who goes through all your pics after the party and is like “Gosh I look ugly in this one…please delete”…shut up, you say that in every picture. That’s just what your face looks like when you’re drunk. Why do you insist on me taking pictures of you then?

I don’t know, i check my facebook almost everyday, to comment on my friend’s walls and such…I don’t know why people are obsessed with the farm stuff :?

I don’t go on Facebook that much anymore. It bores me now =\

But I do agree with some of the stuff above – farmville, “liking” your own status. I’m also annoyed how they changed the “profile” part of your facebook so it matches the pages that you “liked” with your interests, music, movies. I preferred when I could type out stuff for my profile.

Then there are stupid pet peeves I have like girls who are “married” to their BFF. People who make Facebook pages for their dogs and their stuffed animals. People who use it to vent about EVERYTHING – so every status is something about “my life sucks”. I understand it’s a cry for attention, maybe even a cry for help, but Facebook is not the place to vent that. You should talk to people. But I guess it’s the same thing like on this site when people vent about troubles they are having =

-The (lack of) privacy issue.
-The fan pages you have to click on to see what they’re about.
-Things you become of fan of whose owners feel obligated to post an inane “daily question” that clogs up your news feed.
-People who post ALL the updates about the games they play (Mafia Wars, Farmville, etc.)
-When I’m playing a game and it wants me to publish every stupid little thing to the news feed.
-The fact that it shows up in your news feed EVERY time one of your friends becomes friends with someone else, even if you have no relation to that other person, it shows everytime someone decides to attend an event, etc…I miss the less clogged-up news feed we used to have.
-Photos that your friends are tagged in come up in your news feed, but if the photos were posted by someone you’re not friends with, you can’t comment on them.
-When people you don’t even know friend-request you.
-Repeat spam messages from groups you’ve joined…I’m seriously considering unjoining my college’s group. I do not need 3 different messages about the Kappa Delta Twister Tournament, 4 about the Delta Zeta Jello Wars, 3 for Capture the Flag. Honestly…

Here’s a funny comic about facebook (I am allowed to post links as long as it’s not Youtube, right? I apologize if I’m not):

THIS. What the heck is that obsession…? I never understood the appeal. I remember once when my sister stayed up til midnight to rotate her virtual crops or something…odd.
When people update their statuses to say something insignificant or stupid! Bah. I’m guilty of this sometimes, but I just wanted to cross-reference my boyfriend and my anniversary… Boo. Facebook etiquette is key in all situations, however.

I think you mentioned this, but what also annoys me is when people screw around with their names. The other day a classmate had requested me, but she had a nickname – like “Sunshine Beauty” and then her last name, so initially I didn’t even recognize it was her. Also, it bugs me when people have things like: Jane “alwaysinmydreamandinmyheart” Doe. What the flip?!

Also I’m ticked off that I can’t find my group pages anymore!

If I wasn’t using facebook to keep in touch with high school friends, I seriously would have deactivated my account by now.

edit: I have another one! Spam pages. It is becoming really, really annoying now to the point I’m scared I get a virus. From the stupid pages that require you to invite friends to see the picture … to friends getting hacked and posting videos and quizzes that relate to something sexual … and those silly fan pages about some guy trying to get back at his girlfriend with nude pictures

I’m so annoyed with Facebook. Basically every update for the past year and a half has been utter garbage. They have made it so much worse.

I also HATE all the games that are like Farmville. I’m okay with Tetris/BB etc…although I don’t play them. I just block all else. I hate joining things like Atlanta’s Hottest Clubs or whatever that a friend promotes…but getting messages alll the time is terrible. It was okay in the school year when I could decide if I wanted to go, but all the time during the summer is so annoying.

The pages that make you become a fan to see the content

oh and yeah when people put “it’s complicated” with their best friend. Or married. The oddest one is when people who are dating change the status to married. Even though they’re not? Weird

I just want to point out that it’s incredibly easy to hide any of your friends from your news feed! And then you don’t have to deal with their crap while keeping your number of friends high ;D

Seriously though, I hate the “click to see” fanpages. Mostly because half of them I kind of want to see, but I’d never stoop so low as to actually click “like” on them. Which is why I’m glad for that one website that lets you bypass fanpages hahaha

Anyway, thanks for that link DCHurricane. Those are some of the most stupid pictures and lists I’ve seen (sans one or two). It really isn’t worth “liking” the page for them -_-

I have another pet peeve (wow, I must really hate facebook, lol): formspring. People begging for others to ask them questions, they get nasty and rude questions from some jerk, complain how people asking these questions are “haters”, and then an hour later post a link to their formspring once again for people to ask more questions. It drives me nuts!

-excessive fan joining- especially of ‘pages’ that are entire freaking paragraphs or longer
-farmville/happy aquarium/treasure isle- jesus, get a life…
-the stupid new profile information page
-the new fan page format (including the ‘like’ system and pages you have to join to see)
-applications that make you consent to something just to see what the damn thing does
-how facebook changes its appearance every 5 seconds
-must be others as well that i just can’t think of until i see it again

^oh formspring as well. somehow people seem shocked at some questions they get (anonymously) yet still post their formspring link 500548957 times a day to solicit more ****ty questions
