The most influential antitrust scholar in the world is now a Penn professor.

Herbert Hovenkamp will be the 21st PIK professor at Penn. He will hold a joint appointment at Penn Law and Wharton.

Hovenkamp is one of the authors of Antitrust Law, the most influential and cited anti-trust legal treatise. He is considered by many the most influential antitrust scholar in the world and th “dean” of American anti-trust law.

You really should work for Penn’s promotions/communications office, @Penn95 - I don’t think I’ve seen another poster as keen on trumpeting the successes of a school…

@Cue7 I will take that as a compliment, but you must not have been paying much attention since actually many people do it on many different school threads. Btw I am just posting a Penn News article and paraphrasing the contents of the article, doesn’t take that much work really…

@Penn95 You really made me roll my eyes here. Just accept the compliment (with or without posting) and leave it at that. You don’t need to follow-up by saying that “you must not have been paying much attention.” @Cue7 was trying to be nice.

@Penn95 - I didn’t mean any offense here. Yes, I know that many posters do this on different threads, but you’re particularly up to date on the Red and Blue (that is, for those who don’t know, a nickname for Penn), and you fairly regularly post updates directly from the news office.

In the past few months you’ve posted Penn News articles about…

The new antitrust professor
The new computational neuroscience professor
A donation for cancer research at UPenn
The announcement of a new hospital pavilion at Penn
The launch of a new health initiative at Penn
Penn’s upcoming financial aid budget for 2017-18
(and probably others but I’m done aggregating)

They could cut out your middle step and just hire you to create copy for them directly! No doubt the content you create for them would be enthusiastic…

I appreciate @Penn95 keeping the forum up to date. @Cue7, the two of you have been taking shots at each other for a long time. Time to move on. It has not been fun to watch. You are both intelligent informed posters. Keep it civil, not snarky…

@BigPapiofthree - I’m not being snarky here - I’m dead serious, I think @Penn95 would be a great candidate for Penn’s Communications/Promotions Office. You don’t think so? His CV could just be links to these threads - he’s one of the most pro-his/her school people I’ve ever seen on these boards, and that’s saying something!

@Cue7 ok sorry for being snarky… i just read your post wrong i guess haha. the fact that we have had some history of arguments in the past didn’t really help preventing me from jumping to conclusions.

But you are right to say I really really pro-Penn. I had an amazing time there, Penn really fit like a glove for me while I was there and gave me amazing academic and professional opportunities so I really do love the school.

@Penn95 - agreed, and I mean this nicely - your love of the school is very apparent! It looks like you had a great time in college.
