The N prefix.

Hi all,

I'm a newly admitted transfer student for fall. I'm looking to take some summer classes and stumbled upon one I need with the "N" prefix. Berkeley says the following about this..

"Courses with the same number and title as the Fall/Spring version but which differ in a significant way (unit value, hours of class meeting, or a change to the course description) carry the prefix "N". This indicates the course is "not identical" to the Fall/Spring versions."

My question is does that N- class still count towards your requirements just as if you had taken it in the fall or spring? This is not clear to me on their site.

Thanks guys/gals.

Make it more specific. What N class for what requirement?

I’m taking an N-class that satisfies the same requirement as its usual version would. But your case has a slight chance of being different.

yeah i was wondering about this too. im taking english N1A over the summer and it’s only 3 units… the CoE requires a RC to be 4 units. does this class satisfy the requirement??? gahhhhh

what! where does it say that?
