The number of study abroad opportunities..

I am fascinated with cities and everything related to them. So, I would really like to travel a lot, and visit a ton of major urban centers across the world, either while in college, or as a part of my career after school. So my questions are:

1) How many times does a typical student go abroad to study? It seems like only once, but I'd really like to go as many times as possible.

2) Are there any majors or schools that have a very active study abroad program? I'm thinking about urban studies (Uni of Pittsburgh) and I thought that it may be a good chance to visit 4-5 places around the world.

3) Any ideas on careers that I can do pretty much anywhere? I don't want to be traveling constantly, but rather live somewhere for a year or two. Landscape architecture is an interesting field to me, and it seems like it can be practiced anywhere.

Thanks!

A friend did the sophomore year in Rome through St. Mary's South Bend (near Notre Dame) and traveled all over Europe. Many kids go for a year and some to two different places. You might set yourself up for a possible Fulbright after you graduate that would give you another year in another place.
