The official 2009 APUSH after exam discussion thread

why are you guys discussing?
i know people who’ve had their scores canceled because of discussion on CC

Can anybody vouch for me whether this link is accurate?

http://www.coachcrump.netfirms.com/apus/score_worksheet.html

According to it, if we got 60 right (20 wrong), and 6s on all the essays, we can get a 5?

anyone care to answer my question(s)?

I don’t think we’ve revealed too much about the DBQ or FRQ, discussing specifics would be in violation, just vague talk is fine (i did so good…this was hard…etc).

I believe that CB frowns against discussing SPECIFIC questions. As long as the discussion stays general, everyone is alright, am I correct?

its accurate 1a1, i posted it.

3 and 5 . . . odd that no one chose 3 here.

mc was difficult for me, essays were easy, i did 2/4

I did 2 and 4 too. MC was a little chal;lenging.

heh Erny, you wrote exactly what I wrote O_O Odd lol

gregb…how do you know that is accurage? it is EXTREMELY generous.

am i the only one who did 3 & 4 ?

Depends on how you used them. If you wanted to say what the period of 1775-1830 did to impact the Emancipation, that’s fine. But if you actually talked about the Emancipation impacting the period before it, that’s not good.

I personally talked about things prior to the period, like the Great Awakening and Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence/the Revolutionary War.

so what, mabel? the AP curve is very generous

I honestly thought the MC was not that bad. And I don’t think we could have asked for better essays. 2/4 here.

So, that calculator is accurate? Shouldn’t more people get 5s?

MC was a little iffy but essays were a Godsent. I beasted out the DBQ. Did 3 and 5 on the FRQ. We had just covered 4 in class, but I was absent that day, and I didn’t feel that what I learned from the make-up work was enough to write an adequate essay. 2 would have been easy too, but I was too afraid to be wrong on specifics to give it a shot. I was so worried that we wouldn’t have covered the essays since we haven’t finished the curriculum. The only one we didn’t cover was 5, but I knew enough about it to write a decent essay. (And at that point I only had 20 minutes so specifics had to be brief anyway.)

I know at least 10 people who wrote absolute BS for the essays (like, "Hi, my name is ___. I am years old. I like to _____.) So in that respect, I think I did fine. Maybe not compared to the rest of the country, but we’ll see in July.

i put the right sticker on my essay booklet but circled the wrong essay number at the top of the page. Do you think that will be alright…?

How long were your essays?

I had a 7 paged DBQ, 2 and 1/2 paged FRQ which was #2, and a 3 paged FRQ which was #5.

What else?

And no my handwriting is not godawfully large, it’s a pretty normal size.

Skipped 4 MC, felt it was decent

I really wanted something Jacksonian for the DBQ, but it was fine

2 and 5 for the essays

I don’t think anyone should be talking about free response questions specifically yet.

My DBQ was five pages long. Unfortunately, I mentioned something 40 years out of the time period. It was about four lines long, will that really affect my score?
