I already sent in a letter with an updated resume showing a scholarship award that I won, a job I got tutoring physics after school, and another job I got working as a TA at an SAT review class (this resume also went into much more detail about my extracurricular activities than the last one). However, I think the real weakness in my application was my essays. I emailed my regional rep asking if i could submit new/revised ones, but never got a response. should I email him again?

Also, I sent yale my first marking period grades for SCEA, which showed a B+ in AP Physics (the only one on my transcript). I was able to bring up my physics grade to an A for the second marking period, but in the meantime my AP English grade fell from an A- in 1st MP to a B+ in 2nd MP, am I pretty much screwed?

dont know if anyone's done this but just finished reverse-engineering my application, and it helped me a lot. Just cut it up, stick it in the blender and hit the button... and out you come!

Not really, but the problem is I was so sick and tired of looking at my applications and my parents are not being helpful, I couldnt see anything objectively anymore.

I got book Dealing with Deferral that re-organizes your application for you, asks you some questions that make you look at your stuff in a totally different way, and then gives you feedback so you can update your application for RD, and move on. You can buy it, or get a free copy via facebook.

Two things i know now i didnt know before: 1) i've said everything i've got to say to Yale. 2) dont break my stride bcz i'm moving on... with or without Yale.

SturdyLon: I love your "two things". When I read the first part of your comment, I thought "oh no, (s)he's taking an application that was good enough to be deferred and changing it to - who knows what." With that attitude and an application that Yale thought was worthy of deferral, you'll do fine.

nope, the admissions deferral book just rearranges the picture so you can figure out what went wrong. then you can send it in to the publisher for their feedback, which was like a good second opinion.

looks like my identity was a kind of one dimensional? so i am working on that right now with my sports--- nothing that i wasnt already doing: it just wasnt getting through on the app. so my rep said get it to her by end of feb. if i get accepted, great. if i dont i'll think about my options then. nothing more i can do until april, right?
