I can’t make an email. Omgfmlforrealzzzzz.

Yeah, I can’t see any of that stuff. I’m not even going to **** with it anymore, its needless BS, like a kid trying to find their unwrapped Christmas presents a week early. I’m just going to assume I didn’t get in, then I’ll either be pleasantly surprised, or my suspicions will be confirmed. But checking the “back doors” constantly is driving me crazy; whatever happens, happens, and nothing I do at this stage is going to change it. I accept my fate, whatever it may be.

To help some of you step back from the ledge…

I can’t create an e-mail, or see most of the links in URSA. I can logon to MyUCLA but I’m booted immediately, BUT…my friend works in the admissions office and has confirmed that most transfer decisions have been made and that I was accepted as an engineering transfer.

So, if you can’t access stuff that others say they can, don’t be worried, it doesn’t mean anything significant. Hope this eases some of your pain!

@caliengnr

do you see ur financial aid stuffs on ursa?
i also applied as aerospace engineering to ucla. im on the fence tho haha.

@ CaliENGNR: Congrats on being accepted (if it’s true). Does your friend know when decisions come out?

what…isn’t it illegal to get your decision early like that from someone who works in admissions?

Illegal? Like the admissions police are going to come and get you? No, it’s not “illegal” but it is definitely unethical.

@caliengnr GTFOH. What are your stats?

Illegal as in against SCHOOL rules. And no, I’m not saying anyone is going to come after him, but the person who works in admissions could get fired over something like that.

yes, they can definitely get fired over it. And I find it hard to believe that there are so many people that have friends in admission that can access peoples files and are just running around telling people their decisions before they are released.

I DO know people in admissions, and they won’t tell me S H I T. Not even the release day. All I get is “soon”. So I think he’s ■■■■■■■■.

The only confirmatory thing I’ve gotten is that financial aid is only processed for pending/admitted students.

I got to make an e-mail… but I have nothing coming up under financial aid stuff. I’m kind of confused. I signed into URSA and it said “As a UCLA student, you are entitled to a free UCLA e-mail account.” I got really happy, and then saw that this was a common occurrence. So, what is the consensus on this e-mail business?

honestly, i’m not sure. ive looked at URSA threads from years past and this is the first ive heard of the whole email thing.

In response to my previous post:

My Stats were 3.92 GPA, all transferable coursework completed including GE’s and Major Prep.

No, I’m not able to view my financial aid info yet, I guess that will be available once the “Official” decision is posted.

As for the Ethics thing…that’s a gray area, what’s the harm in knowing early? My “contact” doesn’t know the exact date the decisions will be released, but he/she did say that decisions are still being made, they are not all completed yet. Note that the person I know doesn’t have any pull over admission status, he/she can only view the status in the computer.

So to clear things up, I’m NOT “■■■■■■■■”, and I hope to see you all around campus. I’ll be the guy with the big goofy smile constantly spread across his face because I’m so happy to be a BRUIN!!!

Congratulations CaliENGNR! - Honestly, its funny that anyone would get on your case for knowing your decision when everyone and their mama on this thread is doing whatever they can to find out early too.

I doubt that URSA stuff indicates anything. Just because the school has processed your financial aid information doesn’t mean they are going to accept you.

@ella: How sure are you have the financial aid tracking complete being for pending/admitted students? How do you explain students last year who were able to view their fin aid stuff and got rejected? As well as students getting accepted but weren’t able to see their financial aid tracking before hand? My financial aid stuff has been completed since last week and reading all this pending/admitted business is really getting me antsy haha.

I’m not 100% sure, but if you read the stuff from last year(and the year before, and the year before) there was only 1 person who said that their document tracking was complete and got rejected. Also, I have talked to several UCLA peope who said they don’t process financial aid for rejected students.

These are all theories, we’re the blind leading the blind. Hopefully the digging we’re doing is accurate, if it’s not, we’ll know in a couple days.

^ I certainly hope you’re right. I was never counting on making it into LA because my gpa for my desired major is a little lower than the average last year. I also don’t have much ECs and I would only consider one of my essays strong; the other I don’t feel was so good. I was really expecting to get rejected for sure but now I totally don’t know and the wait is destroying me. T_T

Whats your major/gpa ect?
