Sucks, doesn't it?

Is there any hope for us? :)

Sucks, doesn't it?

Is there any hope for us? :)

No.

You are all destined for community college. (We, I guess.)

Hell, I’m getting my $90 worth and requesting a paper version of my rejection. I encourage you to do the same. ;D

^ Tree-killer.

But, but, I feel like I’m entitled considering their app cost $20 more than any other school… and I spent another $20 on sending them art slides and everything by Dec 1. They have no appreciation.

A lot of people will agree that the general trend in Stanford’s decisions (type of people they accept) does not parallel with those generally accepted by the Ivies. That’s not to say that people who get into Stanford won’t get in to HYP or vice versa, but I don’t think you can use them as an indicator. Good luck!

But are you entitled to KILL TREES? The trees never did anything to you!

I got caught in the SCEA slaughter.

So yeah, I’ve been feeling that for a good three months.

The official name is the “SCEA Massacre”, actually

“Slaughter” has better sound - more ring and finality to it, I think.

i’m even more doubtful/dreading april 1st… but at least I have a great school to go to next year anyways

ugh… i wish i could fall in a coma till 4/1. i kinda wish now that stanford didn’t release till at least 3/31 cause im going to be really bipolar for the next week or so. =P

This should be moved to the Stanford forum, but its the Stanford Slaughter and the MIT Massacre. Each school has a different group of students that they are looking for, so it really depends

Only on CC…haha. But yup, in the same boat, although I’m going to try to rationalize and say that my Stanford supplement had hints of weak sauce in it.

thank God for that Dartmouth likely letter. lol

It sucks worse when you’ve always placed Stanford in higher regard than the Ivies…lol.

I don’t think I legitimately belong to this thread since I’m not actually “worried about HYP” - that’s not to say I think I’m getting in. I just don’t care that much whether I get in or not anymore.

About the tree killer remarks…technically, the trees have already been killed. We’re not the ones doing the killing. Although I won’t deny that by demanding for the use of paper, we are indeed contributing to the entire process. But I guess my point is, those trees are killed/will be killed regardless of one person’s demand or boycott. It is different though when you’ve got a significantly large group of people boycotting. Haha ok I know you were joking around, but I had to contribute my 2 cents.

friends daughter got a NO from Stanford - not even waitlisted - with a 2400 SAT and 4.3 gpa from excellent CA highschool with athletics, drama, leadership, job experience. luckily she gets to be a Cal Bear. but what does it take to get in to Stanford??? (It’s a rhetorical question…just really surprising).

One of my friends was rejected from Stanford. But someone I know got in! I feel sort of honored, knowing her, even though I’ve only met her a few times and even though my neighbors’ son went there (while their daughters went to Harvard). But really. I’ve never been “there” when anyone got into Stanford before. Of course, like no one here applies since it’s in California, but whatever.
