<p>My deadline isn't until March 1st (transfer) but I have 11 days day until I go back to school and i'm taking a heavier courseload so i'm definitely not going to get ANY college app essays done once i'm back at school. So i'm trying to get these 3 essays out of the way (1 down, 2 to go) in these 11 days. My problem, however, is lack of motivation. Oh I have my ideas down and I know exactly what I want to write. But I can't seem to bring myself to actually WRITE. Its horrible.</p>
<p>TMT90, that was EXACTLY my problem. My suggestion? Just freaking write it. I know you CAN'T, but it helps if you take off of work (or something) to do it. I stayed home from school one day and just wrote. If you procrastinate too long, you wind up doing something weird, like writing about your shoes on one of the supplements. Ugh, I hope the adcoms like quirky people ><</p>
<p>ikatfabric, that is SO true. I ended up just freaking writing the dang thing and I forced myself to close every internet window and just focus on my essay. The result? Well i'm writing the last few sentences of my 2nd essay's conclusion ;) so it does work!</p>

I just ran over this old thread and I felt the current 2010 applicants need this sort of thing also and why not continue on this thread, you know spread the legacy. So why don’t I start first, </p>
<p>I AM SCREWED, I HAVEN’T STARTED MY COMMON APP ESSAY- I don’t even know what it is supposed to be about. I totally don’t know what I’m doing. On my Why Brown essay I directly insulted the Admissions officer and I also used the phrase, ‘I am AFRICAN, pity me’. I’m sure nobody has ever taken such a risk. Am I like uber crazy or could this workout to my benefit? </p>
<p>Anyways don’t worry guys, time is not really a limiting factor, who knows you may wake up at midnight with an amazing topic for your essay. Or maybe not…</p>
<p>haha I just recently finished a really rough draft of my commonapp hopefully I can fine tune it and then just work on supplements from here on out</p>

<p>YAY FOR THIS THREAD BEING REVIVED! This is so me, I always end up having last minute crises. So far, I’m actually not so terribly behind on essays, but I have around 3-4 short answers (including 2 Why X Uni? ugh) and 2 essays to go.</p>

I HATE colleges with more than one essay question (which is unfortunate for me considering most of the colleges I’m applying do) on their supplements. UGH. REALLY, as if I don’t write enough for you.
Also am annoyed that 3 of my colleges ask me how I can “contribute to the diversity” of their college. I’m paranoid about recycling essay ideas/essays in general
And really, I have like 8+ essays to write… all I have are some vague ideas. SIGH. 15 days till most of the deadlines, what am I going to dooooo???</p>
<p>Dont worry! I had three deadlines yesterday (15 of december) And by Sunday night I had no even started. But I could manage to write 6 essays in 2 days and a half. I actually sent application of Wisconsin at 11.36 at night.</p>
<p>Dec 18 today and I’ve basically gotten nowhere this week, hope I could get something done this weekend. I’m in trouble, especially for the Jan1&2 deadlines. I haven’t started my Cornell, Brown, Harvard, Rice and Connecticut college essays. Even though all five have deadlines before Jan 2.</p>

<p>I3 essays in 13 days. Wow. Basically, I’m going to be parked in front of my computer for Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve and everything else. Die, Quasi, DIE.</p>

<p>One 400-600 word essay to start and finish. Freaking out; too much ideas, but none of them lead to a focused essay. </p>
<p>Three supplements of around 500-600 chracters each. I’m just going to be really honest writting these. I hope to do two of them TODAY AND BE DONE WITH THEM. </p>
<p>And another supplement (a poem) i need to revise. </p>
