*The Official June 2012 Sat II Math Level 2 Thread*

Just starting this up since its on Saturday. Any thoughts on what the curve will be like?

No, and I NEED HELP.

I’m a pretty smart kid, but I’m more into English and History and I really put no effort into math. I pulled a 2 A’s and 2 C’s in Geometry for the quarters because I really didn’t show up and failed most tests (it was middle school and I didn’t care.)

Right now I’m in Alg 2/Trig Honors, and I pulled an A- BARELY last semester and I’m on track for a B/B+ this semester. It’s combined Alg 2, Trig, and Precalc and I’m going into AP Calc and AP Stat next year, so there’s no point in waiting to take the SAT.

What do I need to know for the SAT II math? I took a regular SAT in 8th grade because I scored 99th % on all state tests and I got a 1970 with something like a 670 Math. Will it be like that?

I borrowed a graphing calculator from my teacher and never study. Any last minute tips so I can do well on saturday?

Learn to use your graphing calculator! I took a practice test without a graphing calculator and had to do a bunch of graphing and stuff by hand. The calculator is VERY, VERY useful. I too borrowed one from a friend and it is saving me right now.

Good luck to everyone!!!

“I borrowed a graphing calculator from my teacher and never study.”

Why should we help you if you’re not willing to put in the preparation?

Yeah, a graphing calculator can be an absolute godsend at times.
Some questions I don’t really even solve, I just graph functions.

good luck to everyone.

And don’t clear your calculator histories so you can discuss Saturday afternoon. ;)

Because I’m a freshman and I didn’t even know I was taking the test until this week. And when I say “borrowed,” I mean she lent it to me for the year and I’ve been using a TI-84 since November. I don’t plan on spending time in a prep course, but having an idea of what’s on the test would be nice.

I borrowed a graphingc calc from a friend, and am not used to using it.
Can anyone tell me how to do exponential regression (probability) in it?

Hey

How many hours left before test approximately ?

@doctoribach, if you have to ask this… you aren’t prepared for the Math II

Who else is cramming today?

stop try to be clever dude “_”

also testing tomorrow… anyone taking multiple tests that have absolutely nothing to do with each other? I think we’re allowed to pick what order we go in… I’d go with math ii, biology, then us history.

I’m taking math 2, bio, and us-h as well. I’ll probably go math, us-h, bio

Which should I take first Chem or Math ii?

it is the easiest subject test guys… an easy 800

^ As if there’s such a thing as an “easy 800”.

^Math 2 is definitely an easy 800.

You can miss 1/10 of the test and still make an 800.

How ridiculous is that.

Especially on a test where you basically plug stuff in your graphing calculator. The test is really a test of whether or not you can use a graphing calculator (preferably with a CAS :D).

How accurate are the Spark Notes Sat II tests (for Math II) in terms of content and scoring?

the only thing you would need to know is the Matrix, because schools don’t teach that (at least my school doesn’t). If you have done grade 10~11 level math, then you’re good for a 800 (imo)
