*The Official June 2012 Sat II Math Level 2 Thread*

@Corrax
There were a couple of tricky questions. The one that asked what sin(2theta) was hard but once you realise the trig identity it was easier.

Plus the last one with the disk, it was tricky, a lot of little things where you can mess up

The answer for #50 is 987.

The question asked for how far it would be off from the EDGE.

Therefore you need to subtract the radius (50) from 1037 to get 987.

Yeah, “Edge” thats what I recall. -2 here

2 omitted and 1 wrong here… hoping for nothing less than an 800 now

what do you think the curve will be for 800 this time? im getting mixed reactions, some said it was ok, some said it was really hard

Apparently I did 50 correctly lol
So no wrong ones, I can’t believe it

I though test was average, understandably harder for some. Expect normal curve, possibly 1 point better

44/50, is that going to be an 800 for sure.

f(3)-f(1)=6

Can someone please explain how to do the last one?
I can’t seem to understand it even though I get the correct answer

seems like everyone is getting at least 780+

anyone remember g(f(x)) to be
x^6+2x^3+3?
i think it was f(x)=x^3+1
g(x)=x^2+2. Care to reaffirm?

@insurrection I remember it was x^6+2x^3+2 because it was +1+1

I omitted 2 in the interest of time and guessed on 2 for similar reasons. Fairly sure I got everything else right unless I was just dumb and fell for a trick I didn’t catch, if so no one on here guessed it either. I think that you will be able to miss (as in get wrong) as many as 4 questions on this and still get an 800 if my practice test experiences are indicative of anything.

guys, look at post #838…

you’re welcome.

this is gonna sound really stupid, but what did you guys get for the VERY FIRST question, and for the circle one?

@insurrection amazing!!! It’s more or less what we have been discussing

I remember one more. You had points 2;2 and -2;-2. They reflect by line y=-x and the origin right?

wait…if there are already answers from those years ago, why doesn’t everyone just go and copy? Why would they keep the questionsthe same?

Dinosaur 800

sorry if this has been answered before/wrong thread

are ti-nspire cx cas allowed for the sat2math2?
