“ Why, what’s wrong.”
“ Are you getting a divorce.”
“ Are you moving to NE?”
“ is there a LD you didn’t know about?”
“ Why, is our local school not good enough for you?”
“ You know BS is a horrid place with messed up kids, why send your child there.”
“ Did your kid get in trouble?”
“ You know, XY kid failed at BS and got into drugs”
“ Are you sending Kiddo to Q-School already?!!”
( ok , the last option would be nice one day for any golf kid)
So I got back from break last night, and since I was outside of the country for the whole time, I couldn’t wait to check the mailbox for swag packages (from Loomis, St. Mark’s and some others) only to find there’s nothing in there. I do have two addresses on my application (one domestic and one int’l as an int’l student currently in a NE day school), but considering that both Loomis and Hill sent me admission info mail earlier in the process, shouldn’t they send anything to the mail for acceptance? Should I ask the school for the admission package?
-I’m just really desperate for some swag like a decal, chocoate, or something
@YoungThriver You might need it for spirit days, such as “dress like an Exeter nerd day”. Speaking of nerds, it was Ravenclaw Pride day this Saturday. Also referring to the top of the page: I forgot to double-space an essay, so the teacher says (sarcastically) “Oh, since you got accepted to Exeter, you don’t have to follow the MLA format anymore”. I nod (also sarcastically). Then she starts ranting about preppies, blazers, and lacrosse. And when my physics teacher found out I got accepted, he started describing the best spots to jump in the river (he grew up there). And everybody else calls me “Hogwartsian” now. So… Wingardium Leviosa, y’all.
I really wish I could go to revisit day, but it makes absolutely no sense since I’ve more or less decided which school I’m gonna commit to, and I’m an int’l student and tickets would be crazy expensive last minute.
@HappyCria since andover has clusters, everyone i know calls it hogwarts now. also i get “is our school not good enough for you” from teachers all the time. and my friends are hurt that i’m leaving them
also, i have to choose between andover and exeter without going to revisits. my parents don’t wanna spend the money and i have no idea which to pick. i don’t even remember visiting either school the first time, i think i was so nervous for my interviews that my mind just deleted all the footage.
Impressive, but in a pretentious way. More like showy, but in a tasteless sort of way. If you’ve ever seen photos of Trump’s apt in NYC - that is ostentatious. And that is a comment on his lack of taste (or I guess it was really Ivana who decorated), and is in no way a political commentary.
