@CavsFan2003 I’m a current senior at Hotchkiss, and I’m also ftm. If you have any questions about Hotchkiss at all, feel free to ask. I do know a decent amount about choate as well.
For anyone who has already attended a revisit, what shocked you the most about a certain school?
Here’s the 2019 revisit impression thread, but there’s only one post yet: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/2133641-revisit-day-impressions.html#latest
That’s exactly what I was thinking!
@CaliPops I love calvin and hobbes too! i grew up on it basically! i ended up rereading the books over and over and over and eventually my dad took them away cause i wasn’t reading anything else
i’m leaning toward andover but i’m not fully sure. if anyone’s been to an andover or exeter revisit yet, feel free to describe further
But please do so on the dedicated thread:

@ffsophiar There are a few Exeter Alumni youtubers that I know of who provide great insights about the school. I’ll PM you their names if that’s Ok.
@houstonmoma Yes, PEA has a squash team. I do play at the national level but you don’t have to play at a high level to try out squash. If you need to learn the basics you can play club squash. If you already know the basics you can try out. I know the girls varsity team is graduating a lot of seniors this year so the team
@YoungThriver if it’s not too much trouble, please do:)
Is it okay to wear ripped jeans to Choate’s revisit day? They said dress casual, and I know Choate basically has no dress code, but I don’t know if that’d be frowned upon. I was going through my wardrobe and realized all of my jeans are ripped.
@CavsFan2003 How ripped are we talking here?
@YoungThriver One pair isn’t too bad, just minor distressing, not showing skin
Another has a LOT of distressing, shows skin on both the back and front
The other has a lot but is covered by a layer of fabric under, except for at the knee
@CavsFan2003 I would suggest against it unless you have no alternatives. It is outside dress code at PEA for sure, and they have a pretty loose dress code. The ones with no skin showing would be best if have no other choices.
I agree with @vegas1, it’s just less stressful to show up to Revisit in dress code attire. Someone kiddo guided last week was in full out ripped jeans - just kind of out there because of where the holes/rips were located. If you do decide to wear the ripped jeans, select the ones that show less skin or less skin in interesting places (LOL).
@Golfgr8 @vegas1 I am dressing within dress code at Hotchkiss (polo and khakis lol) but Choate said dress casual so idk how casual they meant, I’ll probably just stick with polo and khakis again!
You can never go wrong with that for any school that does not have a coat-and-tie dress code.
Don’t wear ripped jeans to revisit. As a parent I would not let my kid do that and generally I don’t care how she dresses. Casual doesn’t mean ripped jeans to the people who wrote it.
Business casual is usually the safest option
One of the reasons why I’m leaning towards Andover is because of the weekly stipend they’re offering. How much should this factor weigh in my decision making?
Also, some family members have been pressuring me to pick Andover over Exeter because of their rankings on Niche (foolish, I know). This has sort of “tainted” my decision-making process because I feel as though choosing Andover (if I do so) wouldn’t have been completely my choice. Any tips or advice for this little issue of mine?
