The Official November 2014 SAT Thread (INTERNATIONAL)

Whats the answer for the math question: If 9t^2-r^2=17, what is t+r? and another: The squares and equilateral triangle question. I put 6 times the square root of 3. These questions drove me crazy.

Okay doggie! Just wanted to know if anybody knew about the news too! Good luck, fat doggie!

Hope at least Japan will be safe from cancellation…sincerely wish,

@CoffeeSpoon‌ pretty sure it’s 11 and 6*sqrt 3

@queenbellevue Can you show me how you did it?

what do you guys think i’m gonna get if i get 3 wrong and 1 omit? I think i missed 3, but there might be more…

@CoffeeSpoon‌ there’s a link to the 17 question on pwnthesat q&a tumblr a couple days ago. The other one is just the length of a side of a right triangle

@queenbellevue I’m sorry for being so stupid, but how do you know it’s the length of the side of a right triangle? Details on how you reached that conclusion would be appreciated.

You have one angle of 30 on both sides and the other angle of 120, so cut in a half to make a right angle. So you have angles 30-60-90. Since you know that the angle of 60 was opposite to the length, 3sqroot3 and the other part must be 3sqroot3. Add those 6sqroot3.

thanks for helping me guys!

Lol, @DevonKim‌ you are funny bro.

i got a writing dummy - section 3 and 6
you guys have already identified the real one and the dummy one but then the problem is i dont really remember which questions they contained…
which one was the timezone one? 3 or 6?
i remember that section 3 was so easy and 6 was so hard
i am really confused over here please tell mee

1

@John12344‌ what was the answer for range question between two columns A and B ?

I think is 2. @RayanAt‌

Yep it was 2

for the night owl vs day people passages, did anyone choose “embarrassed because she misinterpreted the fact” in the question that asks for the reaction of passage 1 to passage 2?

@minhdn25‌ I think I chose the practical one

At this point I don’t remember much about any of the questions anymore, which I don’t mind at all. It seems activity has died down a bit here (Perhaps most of you took the chill pill, amiright? hahaha) Our results come out in 10 days. We’ll be fine

I, for one, am pretty excited to see my score; not nervous in the slightest.

10 days still seem like such a long time
