The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2015

^ nice. how do you find further math? is it just multi-variable calc? i took a class in it during a summer program, and always wondered whether further math was just that.

i m not bragging but i dont find fmaths difficult =p
and no, further math is a lot more than calculus, there are chapters on polynomials, vector spaces, graph sketching… P2 is all about statistics and mechanics

I took Further Math this year but dropped it this jan… because you actually have to study for it :stuck_out_tongue: which I am not willing to do … I am in full mood to chill this year… or atleast thats what I thought before this whole app process… now I am more tense then ever lol not because of studies but because of this whole admission process :D

haha anyways after dropping it I took Psychology AS level instead which seems a lot more fun …

and Mathfreak how difficult is it to get an A in AS level psychology ? As in compare it to other subjects like Eco or Acc or Phy or Chemistry or something…

P.S I only have 4 subjects now … :P

lol, i never asked if it was difficult. but, yeah, a lot of people do complain that it is. is it a course offered at your school or are you self-studying it?

^^ AS-level psyc is the easiest course ever designed. my friend’s just had this stack of notes which they memorized a week before the exam to get A’s lol.

all this, while i slaved over chem and literature. :(

AS psych is very easy to get an A in. You just have to manage time. Know the studies inside out and be good at essays
i would say it is easier than econ, but i found it tougher than phys, chem coz i am more of a science-oriented student…

Yeah my school offers further maths and we have a great teacher for it. A great fmath teacher can make your life easy.

oh, ok. i am guessing you’ll be going for a math major? :)

yeah, true that. my math and econ teachers are awesome. i didn’t even need to study to get my A’s, and i actually want to show up to their classes. i hate my chem teacher though, a classic example of a douc hey know-it-all who actually know nothing at all. :p

rote learning is not my forte so I would say that sciences and maths are easier than psychology, but maybe i was overthinking psych, coz i ended up with a near perfect percentage in AS :)

nop engineering
i applied for math major in some LACs though

well that’s good … because we didn’t have such a good teacher that’s why I dropped :(

and tougher than phy and chem :open_mouth: … oh no!

Mathfreak what was your percentage/percentile in AS level eco ? or for what matter what were your percentiles in all your subjects… ?

Further is so freakin’ hard…we haven’t even started Mechanics in school yet. We’re almost done with Pure Math and Stats though (which involves like a bajillion statistical tests). I think Stats is pretty easy but some topics in Pure Math are just unforgiving. Even from the cover, Mechanics looks like a beast.

do i have to tell the percentages lol?
They were all pretty high, anyway.

mechanics is a beast, rightly said. I still need to do alot of mech practice. Pure and stats are easy

did you guys do m1 or s2 for math? (not further math. regular math. let’s come back to commoner territory again ;))

well its ok if you dont want to tell ;)

lol lets just say 4 out of 6subjcts were above 95
including a 100 and 99

:O Dude like wow , WOW, thats awesome… no best 5 A’s or anything of the sort?

yeah best 4As,
i am still surprised why i didnt get the best 5As, given my average of 5As was 2.8% higher than the average of the one who got it =@ i guess this sounds too geeky of me =p

what about you, what were your percentages?
