Can we please all get along? At least for the sake of being Pakistani…
Sheesh…

=O
thanks qwerty and pakipower, i guess =O

yes yes mathsfreak is getting in for sure… the kind of achievements he has in Maths and Sciences … noone can compete with that

Wow, so Mathsfreak is from Pakistan. I agree with the others. You’ve got a good shot at MIT.

Wassup guys? Any Likelies or Yale/Stanford acceptances here?

thankyou guys, but admission process is so unpredictable…

^ yeah it’s unpredictable, but if you managed to stand out in your essays and interview as well, there’s a very good chance you’ll be among the 3-4 pakistani acceptees. jmo.

@hayyaan: an argument isn’t always a ‘fight’. lol, people can have opposing opinions you know.

@debarghya9: which city are you from? none to stanford yet, but there have been 2 acceptances at yale.

lol, ok. i seriously don’t understand how you got that impression of me though.

^^^true that.

I’m from Calcutta, India. Love thy neighbors

2 acceptances from this thread? Wow and who are the lucky ones?

hello debarghya9
hows india?
how many top tier acceptances so far in india that you know of?

pakipower, yeah i know it comes down to essays now… interviews dont matter much… lets wait for the decision day fingers crossed

^ yeah, interviews generally don’t matter much. unless you mess up majorly, at which point they can hurt your candidacy.

i wish i could get a decision that early. i really need some reassurance right about now that i’ll have an option besides michigan.

calcutta? wow. well, lord knows this thread desperately needed some diversity. :)

u will get a lot of decisions btw 15th march and 1st april

Hello Mathsfreak, (I kinda fancy Math too)

Hmm Mathsfreak define top-tier. If you include Cornell, Penn and the likes I know at least 5-6. I know 2 who got into Yale. A guy from the India forum got into Stanford REA but he’s probably an UK citizen. That’s all I can recall at this moment.

India is all wrapped up for the board exams here. The Sensex seems to be doing fine today. :)

I bet KGS is the most over-represented school here. Where in Pakistan are you guys from?

Before someone asks, let me announce that I’m pretty homeless too. No decisions yet.

^^ yeah, i know.

lol, wow. how do you know about KGS? nah, the majority of people on this thread are lahori. i’m one of the only two karachi-ites here, and even i don’t attend KGS (the other guy does, however).

People SHOULD have different opinions by all means, but that doesn’t mean you go at each others thought.
With different thought processes comes the responsibility of realizing and learning to live with the differences…

^ um, ok.
i feel i should point out though that qwerty11 and i were barely even arguing. again, my initial statement regarding cricket was mostly sarcastic. he responded with a question and i answered it and that really was the end of it. i really don’t understand why you’re reading into it so much.

that’s what we are doing hayyaan. we’re living with the differences. do you see us like killing each other or what.

and forget it pakipower i know you’re not that now. :)

so assuming that mathsfreak ( hopefully ) (if) gets into MIT… do we get a cyber treat ?

anyone else surprised that social network didn’t win?

i mean the king’s speech was alright and colin firth was brilliant in it, but damn was that movie boring.

^^We sure deserve one ;)

@pakipower: I’ve been here(to this thread) before. KGS seems to dominate w.r.t acceptances.

I’m not surprised. I wasn’t expecting Social Network to win although I liked it much myself.

^^^ and what exactly constitutes a ‘cyber treat’?
