The official Pakistani Thread for the class of 2016

Since most of you have also given IGs and A-levels, I might as well ask- how can we send multiple copies of the Statement of Results if we’re applying to a number of unis? I contacted one of the schools I’m applying to and they said they want originals. Then I asked the examination officer at my school and she said I have to send attested photocopies (as in ‘TRUE copies’) of my report cards and Statement of Results- is that true?

Also, Princeton said I have to send my ‘high school progress reports’ as well as board exam results…does that include Year 9 and 10 as well since these grade-levels are considered part of ‘high school’ in the States?

These questions may sound stupid (which is why I’m assuming its been so tough for me to get a straight answer) but believe it or not- I’ve got absolutely noone to help me with the applications process!

highschool technically includes grades 9-12. so i guess you’ll have to. dont know about the a levels.

Hey I am from Bangladesh, our thread is not that active, so I hope you don’t mind me posting infrequently here.

@leo118 AFAIK you get the photocopies of the statement of results and get it sealed by your school.

I had one question…

Can I take a new AS subject in the 12th grade from another board, because my school does not offer that subject? If yes, which I presume it is, how do I get it on my transcript/predicted grades if I am giving it outside the school?

PAKISTAN2012, You were right about girl at Brown. Her dad confirmed, other D is applying there, as well as Northwestern and “Babson” among others. Good luck with the application process.

@perazziman: haha, why is babson in quotations? thanks though :)

When her dad said, “Babson” it reminded me of the list of schools I thought you could look into instead of Babson, if being near Pakistanis was not important.

Guys, I know college app deadlines are coming close, so I’ll write it again; if anyone needs help in anything, email me at ghazain.jamil@live.com.
^

which college?

anybody taking a SAT-I retake in Dec?

@UKdude84, I’m at UCLA for Electrical Engineering. Might change my major though.

Cool yaar.

Is anyone of you taking the SAT on Nov 19? If so, have you printed your admission ticket yet? Because if you haven’t, the option for printing it is no longer available (since Nov 5). I emailed the CB about it. They then sent all my info in an email and told me to print and bring that email instead of the ticket on test day.

^oh ****, i shouldve printed it out before. DO I have to mail collegeboard?

I suppose so. Or call them.

For those taking the November SAT, I contacted college board about the issue here is their reply:
"We have received your e-mail regarding your SAT admission ticket. We will be happy to provide you with the following information.

If you are registered to test in a country that is testing on November 19, 2011, you will receive an e-mail the Tuesday before the test with a link to print out the updated admission ticket."

So yeah don’t waste time getting tensed about the issue and work for the exam, good luck.

^Yeah they said the same thing to me when I contacted them again.

Oh. Cool. Thanks.

ok people have u locked the names of the 4 colleges that comes free with the SAT registation?I am going to give SAT reasoning on NOV 19 (1st time).can I assign only 4 colleges before nov 14 & assign the rest afterwards? Additional reporting does cost something like $10, i know.I am going to give SAT 2 on DEC.If I then select more than 4 colleges, do I again have to pay $10 each for score reporting? PLZ HELP!!

I hadn’t printed it either, and collegeboard sent me the same reply, but the email they sent with the ticket didn’t actually have the ticket in it. I just checked my internet history for printticket and the link was there, printed and ready.
