The school one attends even in America plays a major role. Schools like Phillips Academy in Andover send several students to HYPS and MIT. others send none.

Hopefully, your standardized scores, essays and performance in math competitions etc will lend credibility to your application. In addition, the fact that your transcript/ grades are not perfect (by your own admission) will actually work in your favor. After all, who would fake a transcript like that? LOL

LoL. Well you have a valid point there that who would want to fake a transcript that doesn’t show perfect grades. Anyways last 10 days and then the long wait till the decisions come out starts.

Btw anyone applying in Canada? I might apply to Waterloo or McMaster just for the sake of a back up plan if all doesn’t go well with my US applications, which I’m hoping wouldn’t :P

My mid year results were Bad (i failed). Is it possible to somehow attach a letter explaining the causes(which will be lies) and improve my chances?
How much do they matter really?

@Confused6, i guess you could explain it at your interview (if your college has one)
though i highly recommend you not risking being dishonest… :/

How was the ED/EA results for Pakistani schools?

My SAT II scores are out,
I kinda bombed them :’(
Phy- 700
Chem- 720
math 2- 680

Thing is, I took science subjects in IGs, then switched to commerce in AS…now I’m taking a gap year, and I prepared for all of these subjects on my own…

Do you think that sweet lil (true) story should get them overlooked or should I retake them?
:S

BTW, my SAT 1 score is 2260, and I’m applying to the Ivies…which I think I prolly shudn’t now :/

Thanks.
Congratulations on your score as well. They are not that bad that you might think of pulling back your applications.
I’ll say here what I have read and what I have been told again and again by everyone. Its not just the scores that matter. Most colleges look for a well rounded application rather than just perfect scores. So don’t sweat it.

Btw, are any of you guys applying to Amherst? I can’t find any instructions for requesting a fee waiver on their website and they are not replying to my emails :/

^I’m not really sure. Reed gave one to me when they granted me a fee waiver. Maybe others do the same. But I haven’t gotten a fee waiver from any other CSS-requiring college yet.
