maybe tonight, Lafayette. and then on 24th, Union College,

alibhai… rest assured your stats … are way way way better than mine
2200 SAT 1 , 2300 SAT 2 , 9 and 5 A’s … nothing special so yeah pretty average

@titan- that’s pretty good! it all comes down to the essays. 5As in A level or AS level?
@usama- wow good luck. does anyone know when amherst and bowdoin decisions come out?

^ there was another thread that might have the dates for the decisions. Let me just come up via laptop and I’ll post the link for you.

Anyone hear from Lafayette last night? A friend studying there told me that one of his friends who worked in the admissions office said that the decisions were to be mailed yesterday. Though I haven’t heard from them.

Did anyone get into Wellesley?I heard decisions came out last night.

@alibhai

here’s the thread alibhai, see if this helps

about 36 hours for Chicago :D

Why is everyone so stuck on interviews? Interviews don’t count for crap when applying to the U.S. They’re just to see if the candidate is genuine or not; interviews really don’t make a difference in the admission process at all unless you do something absolutely outrageous during the interview which I’m sure rarely ever happens.

hopefully that is the case … did not get any interview calls from the ivies

@usamatiwana- thank you! though most of this list has yesteryear’s dates.
@polar101- nope, no interview. i don’t know what to make of that. in fact, i’ve only had one interview- princeton. but i know of someone who got into harvard without an interview. but still, it’s a hollow feeling to have.

@gtfotu- I know! But it’s more than slightly disconcerting to see other applicants being interviewed. Do they not count for anything at all?

@titan- Chicago yes! Only Harvard and Princeton are higher on my priority list. So this is HUGE for me.

Interviews literally count for nothing. TRUST ME!

even Harvard ones na? Thank you. I knew it. :p

Up at 7am and on CC - lol!

Anyways, good luck to the Chicago aspirants. Should you get in, be prepared to receive the nicest admission folder of perhaps any top college (they even send you a scarf :)). And the admitted students’ website is pretty great as well compared to the rest. That said, my aid package in comparison to the other schools was weak, so expect your aid to not be the greatest.

Where is it 7am? It;s 4 17 pm in pak and 4 17 am where I am. Oh, wait, i’m assuming it’s 7 am in chicago.

I attend an Ivy on the east coast.

Harvard interviews don’t count either. Think of it yourself. Isn’t it unfair that one person gets an interview and the other doesn’t. I mean the other person will have a greater advantage in being assessed, etc., etc. Hence, interviews do not count. They are only to see if the applicant is genuine or not. ALso, did anyone apply to GWU [George Washington University]? You should’ve if you didn’t. I didn’t apply for aid but they gave me a 60k scholarship there. Anyway, once again best of luck for decisions. Allah knows what is best for you! =)

^ gtfotu, yes they do matter a lot for Pakistani applicants. For Harvard, specifically. But, even in Harvard’s case, there are sometimes exceptions where they don’t matter as much.

All other top schools just try to interview everyone regardless of chances.
